Poker Stars $0.05/$0.10 Limit Hold'em - 9 players
Hand History Converter

Pre Flop: (1.4 SB) Hero is CO with J :spade: J :diamond:
UTG raises, 2 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, BTN calls, SB caps!, 1 fold, UTG calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls, BTN calls

Flop: (21 SB) K :club: 8 :diamond: 4 :spade: (5 players)
SB bets, UTG folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls, BTN calls

Turn: (12.5 BB) 5  (4 players)
SB bets, MP1 raises, Hero folds, BTN calls, SB calls

River: (18.5 BB) 3 :diamond: (3 players)
SB checks, MP1 bets, BTN calls, SB calls

Felt I could call to the turn with implied odds,
but with bet and raise it got too expensive for my taste going to the river.

Your played that hand well. SB capped Preflop against UTG openraise and CO 3bet. That means a strong hand. Favourable TT+ AQs+. There is no reason to give any action on the Flop. you should just call and see what happens. You don't have to protect against any hand and you are in late position and you might get out quite cheaply if there is any significant action on the turn. Mp3 raised 4handed and SB did bet again. Presumed SB plays a reasonable range, you just beat TT and mp1 might sometimes have 56 or 87 or some weird hand he decided to raise the turn with but with no read that both are crazy, it's just an easy fold.

And you don't have implied odds since Mp1 might already have the straight and you just have 2 outs to improve.
