BTN: $62.44 (62.4 bb)
SB: $103 (103 bb)
Hero (BB): $122.77 (122.8 bb)
UTG: $108.15 (108.2 bb)
MP: $172.17 (172.2 bb)
CO: $126.38 (126.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q J
4 folds, SB raises to $2.50, Hero calls $1.50

Flop: ($5) 5 K 2 (2 players)
SB bets $3.50, Hero calls $3.50

Turn: ($12) 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($12) 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $5.50, SB folds

SB 26/20/7 after 847 hands
SB steal 40
cbet F/T 77/48
AFq F/T/R 49/49/40
wtsd/w$sd/wwsf 28/47/47

It would be a classic float spot. BUT
As in general I like to check back turn with mediocre showdown value (better Ax, middle pairs, weak TPs etc.), is it a good idea to "balance" this with checking back some air as well, and bluffing river instead of bluffing turn, like a "delayed float"?

Hey duder1n0,

Your thoughts are spot on.

In order for us to successfully play a wide range of hands it is necessary for us to try and distribute our air across multiple streets as much as possible. I.e, if we always float flop wide and immediately stab the turn with our entire air range, we are opening ourself up to exploitation.

So one way we can deal with this is by firing some of our air on the turn, and checking back some of our air to fire on the river. Nice hand as part of an overall game strategy. In a vacuum we can fire turn of course.
