BTN: $124.20 (248.4 bb)
SB: $21.20 (42.4 bb)
BB: $54.30 (108.6 bb)
UTG: $68.45 (136.9 bb)
MP: $20.25 (40.5 bb)
Hero (CO): $53.45 (106.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $1.10, Hero calls $1.10, BTN raises to $4, 3 folds, Hero calls $2.90

Flop: ($9.85) T T 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $7, Hero calls $7

Turn: ($23.85) K (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($23.85) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $12, Hero folds

25/20, 3bet 8.5, cbet 73, wtsd 33, 200 hands.

MP was 17/13, fold to 3bet 86, so just called preflop. Vs the sqz should I 4bet or call? I just called a shortstack's open preflop so I thought I wouldn't get much credit if I 4bet, so just called.
Flop? Check/call to float oop, or check/raise? River? It's clear that he is thin valuebetting, as he didn't bet the best bluffcard on the turn. Thought about a check/push, but I don't rep too much. However, I think I'd check/push on a river. Thoughts?

Hey Holy93,

Preflop call is fine.

I think flatting or 4betting is fine here. Occasionally I will trap, so 4bet range doesn't need to be capped. Also people seem to give a lot of credit anyway, despite the initial flat.

I guess we should float the flop if we are going to call light-ish pre.

I generally just bluff river. We might fold out some low pairs. Even if we fold out primarily worse hands we protect ourself from getting bluffed since I don't think the hand is strong enough to x/c.

Yeah, I guess we can check/jam a club river. Could also just bet a club river.

I think it's not a good play to bet river as bluff with AQ here. Since he didn't bet the obvious scare card on the turn, he definately have showdown value, and no bluffs. All FD, GS, etc would bet again on this turn to make me fold A hi, and pocket pairs.
Small pairs also unlikely, why not setmine from BTN? His 3bet range is polarized most of the time, as well as his flop cbetting range (big bet, very strong, or very weak want to get folds). So I think the only way is to check river, and check/shove sometimes. Mostly on clubs. What do you think?

I totally get what you are saying, but not sure if I'm giving average player at nl50 credit for knowing that's a decent card to barrel as a bluff. I totally think he can have bluffs in his range. Otherwise what? He's barreling his entire flop bluffing range on this card just because it's an overcard to the board? That would be inappropriate also right?

I think it's still a really common tendency to cbet once in squeezed pots then give up on turn. Also, even he has showdown value he may fold etc.

Well yeah, I totally get what you are saying if you think his range is entirely comprised of a showdown value. He's going to be in bluffcatch mode a lot so we need to x/f or x/r.

Just not sure if you are giving a guy with 200 hands too much credit for knowing how to play the game.

Well yeah, only NL50, but regs are not so bad, definately has leaks, but mostly by being not balanced (mostly postflop). Most of them are not brain dead completely, so by default i'm not playing versus them as if they were :) Unless I have some read, which in this case I hadn't.

Bluffing frequency at this turn is extremely high IP. Aggro opponents just bet-bet from here with bluffs, and Kx+, and check weakish SD value (weak Kx bluffs and JJ/QQ) . No point checking air to bluff on river. There is a possibility of course, but it's very very unlikely.
Bet-check-bet on this runout as bluff? With 1/2 pot river size? :) That's why i'm saying no other option just check on the river, and exploit his face up range if he bets, by shoveing some amount of the time. If he had a bluff and really gave up, he just checks and we win. I'm wondering can I just be unbalanced, and check/push a lot like a maniac in this spot, because he is also so unbalanced and face up, and almost never could call? (not sure if capable of herocalling with JJ)

Yup, makes sense.

Btw, I think correct checking will always be theoretically correct on river.

Main reason I bet in practice is to fold out junk like 22 that shouldn't be in his range and stop myself getting bluffed since can't really x/c with AQ.
