I have read somewhere once that if you get checked raised on the turn, that your two pair is no good, most of the time. So, with that in mind, I still say that we should call and see what the river brings us. If we fill up we win and if we miss we still have postion and checking it down may happen. He may miss his flush draw. I think postion plays a huge role in this hand!!

CALL...
Reason he may had QJ spades/non-spade or even AQ/AKspades, so he is building the pot size incase river is spade or make him straight, he can just go all in n sure win.

In this case i call him on TURN just in case A or K in the river> Whatever the river card i will call him since he is only have like $50 left while i already give over $60 in the middle. If A or K on the river, i am sure the winner!

I think the best option is to call and watch the river card. He may be on flush draw or Ax range like AJ,AQ.Unlikely to have a set there becouse it would have raised the at the flop. So call at the turn and if flush completes at the river without A or K a hard fold.

Call on turn, imo he have set,air or AsXs. On the river if we don't improve and he shoves i think we should fold, pay off if he bets small, and check behind if he checks.

Shove.
I want to get value from weaker two pairs and flush draws

Short Answer: Shove for Value

Let's go step by step:

  1. What kind of player CO is?
The stack is >100BB, so likely not a fish, but can't tell for sure.
Also, raised standard size, again speaks for no fish.
All the info we can get is the Hero call with AKs which is unusual, and since he's a coach we can assume he's good and knows what he's doing. Obviously CO is not a fish then, because there is no good reason whatsoever to not raise AK vs fish. Especially if suited.
So CO is either a rock against which we can't get proper value with AKs, or a reg, or a maniac who likes to bluff postflop but doesn't go broke easily preflop. Given how unlikely it is to find mega rocks in NL100, I'd go for normal reg (so we flat to get probable BB fish in the hand) or maniac (flat for value).
  2. Flop
For the sake of probability and long term we exclude extremely fancy plays.
Therefore here I almost never see flush draws (generally barreled), basically never top-pair+ (with the exception of a very unlikely single combo of KK). That leaves low medium made hands and pure bluffs (planning to check/raise turn) in CO's range, who is going for pot control/bluff induce.
So: whatever he has now, we should be ahead.
  3. Turn
Check/raise. Given our previous assumptions, he's either trying a fancy bluff (here I accept any two cards, PPs...), or he got one of his outs with a hand like A8, A2s. I just can't see anything that beats us except for the infamous KK (which would still be played in a weird way).
Moral: we are ahead, what's the best way to extract value?

There's not much left in the stacks and a check/call, check/raise line doesn't suggest any willingness to fold.
The pure bluffs are unlikely on a board like this and from a reg, which was our most probable enemy.
A two-pair like A8 or A2s will never fold here, but might find a fold on river on some cards like K, spade, and maybe if he's paranoid Q/J.

Calling to induce further bluffs from an already unlikely bluff doesn't make much sense and we might lose value from the more likely two-pairs.
Obviously a fold versus the super unlikely sets and KK is out of question.
Therefore, we should Shove for Value.

Villain probably have three of a kind, and hi settings traps with 88 KK 22 and hi think hero gets his A x
hero should fold this one

Villain has 88 and he made that raise, because he doesn't want to see spade on river.

I'd call it, hoping for K or A... and then cry loudly.

My answer is: Call turn, and call river bet or bet for value if checked to us.

I think villain would have cbetted or check/raised a set. And because our range won't be that often a strong hand he decided to go for a check/raise bluff representing the ace which is deffinately in his open raise range. We can hope that he fires a bet on the river to with his bluff.

3bet pre, bet flop bigger, jam turn.

This is way above the stakes i play, but i´d fold:

X/C flop, X/R turn as PFR = nuts (here a set)

firstly, I would nearly always be 3-betting AKs IP to a CO open (depending on villain's range), but as played, we are getting over 2/1 on the call on the turn, and we cannot realistically fold, despite the fact that villain has displayed strength by chk/calling flop, and chk/raising trn - the main consideration is how many flush-draws are in the villain's range.
- best to flat-call imo.and reassess on the rvr, depending on villain's action and what card falls
- not much value in raising trn, as only getting calls frtom few hds like A8 etc. and some flush-drws that might have picked up gutterballs on trn eg QJs JTs
- calling most bets on rvr to non-flushing cards

Shove.

This is a very hard one, it wouldn't be too bad to pick any of the 3 lines, a lot depends on villains turn ch/r

But I think I would shove,we would be getting value from hands like A2, A8, AQ maybe but less likely, and a lot of good fd or fd+sd type of hands.

I say to shove. Villain is on A8 he don't cbet the flop which means that he is not on flush draw or set. Villian simply check the middle pair on the flop and check raise on the turn with the 2 pairs. AK shove on turn for protection of scary cards on the river like clubs.

New hand posted.

Here's the full hand and thoughts from hizintak for the last hand:

$0.50/$1 No Limit Holdem
5 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($105.45) 105bb
CO ($131) 131bb
hero (BTN) ($222.75) 223bb
SB ($215.40) 215bb
BB ($86.20) 86bb

Pre-Flop: ($1.50, 5 players) hero is BTN A♥ K♥
1 fold, CO raises to $3, hero calls $3, 2 folds

Flop: K♣ 8♠ 2♠ ($7.50, 2 players)
CO checks, hero bets $3.75, CO calls $3.75

Turn: A♦ ($15, 2 players)
CO checks, hero bets $10.50, CO raises to $42, hero calls $31.50

River: 10:diamond: ($99, 2 players)
CO goes all-in $82.25, hero calls $82.25

Final Pot: $263.50
hero shows two pair, Aces and Kings
A♥ K♥
CO shows
10:spade: K♠

hero wins $260.50 (net +$129.50)

CO lost $131

this is a spot vs a reg, we can maybe 3b this pf but we have a fish in BB so i choose to flat. on flop when he checks i think he usualy gives up, sometimes he is going to be bluffcatching with QQ-99, some 8x, and sometimes he is slowplaying or taking a weird line with a FD. on turn i think his range is inelastic, so QQ-99 are no longer vs any size, his FD's are never folding, and he has some better hands then ours there are 8 combos of sets. when he raises our hand becomes a very good bluffcatcher, we lose to QJss and the same 8 combos of sets, its hard to understand what he would turn into a bluff here unless he is turning made hands into a bluff, because most bluffs, like JTs want to bluff on flop, but same can be said about his value hands, so i think given the odds we have to call.

It's On You: what's your play? [deadline 19/02]

In the first hand of a tournament you river a flush on a double-paired board and villain bets out - what's your play?

Stacks:
UTG (1,500) 75bb
UTG+1 (1,500) 75bb
CO (1,500) 75bb
Hero (BTN) (1,500) 75bb
SB (1,500) 75bb
BB (1,500) 75bb

Blinds: 10/20

Pre-Flop: (30, 6 players) Hero is BTN 8♠ 9♠
3 folds, Hero raises to 60, 1 fold, BB calls 40

Flop: 7♠ 7♦ 4♦ (130, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 80, BB calls 80

Turn: 3♠ (290, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 200, BB calls 200

River: 4♠ (690, 2 players)
BB bets 400, Hero ???

Again would need some information about villain. We lose to FH and unlikely higher flushes, but win straight (flopped OESD), pocket pairs (though I dont think villain would donk these), complete bluffs (missed FD's) that thinks they have high fold-eq dangerous looking board.

Villain's bet looks like valuebet, like he doesn't want us to check-back, so it's tough spot for our hand. If we call and are wrong, we have lost half of our stack - but still have a substantial stack to go on. I think I just might call this, since it's not our tournament life on line and we beat bluffs/straight(/pocket pairs).

Villains hand is highly polarized. 56 made it and will check river (pretty bad to flat this), only busted draw is diamond draw and that might bluff river. Any non-fh value hand is checking here I think, hard to get value from worse. He will mostly likely fold 4 on turn unless he has 44 which is unlikely given river and it is a mistake to flat with this. A lot of 7x will also be in his range after he call flop, like 78s, 67s, a7s and this is a clear value bet. But given board texture villain knows its hard to call without a 7. Its either call or fold, I think I am leaning towards a fold as I think diamond draws should be check raising this flop as it is quite dry and our range is so wide. His sizing looks like a value bet as well.

I really think he should be 3betting his low suited connectors like 87s and 67s for resteal + fold equity as they just play pretty crap without initiative, so I am inclined to believe he has A7s as you can bluff-catch with ace high or a pair of aces no kicker.

Call, if you are getting valued you know how to adjust your blind strategy in future hands and are still alive to use it. Pot odds dictate a cry-call.

Lean between call and fold. I would call. I don't like the raise because it s hard to get paid by worse on this board with the action as it is, villain has to be a fish to overvalue some PPs or straights. His river bet seems like bluffs and monsters (fulls), which I think justifies a just call.
