I indeed had ~40 bb (31K at 400/800), but there were antes already, so M~16.

SB: 6,701 (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: -, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)
BB: 45,936 (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 14.63, 3Bet Preflop: 5.26, Hands: 44)

9 players post ante of 80, SB posts SB 400, BB posts BB 800
Pre Flop: (pot: 1,920) Hero has Q♦ 8♠

fold, Hero raises to 31,016 and is all-in, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 30,216

Spoiler

Flop: (63,152, 2 players) 4♥ 4♣ 5♣

Turn: (63,152, 2 players) 3♣

River: (63,152, 2 players) T♣

BB shows K♥ K♦ (Two Pair, Kings and Fours) (Pre 87%, Flop 98%, Turn 100%)

Hero shows Q♦ 8♠ (One Pair, Fours) (Pre 13%, Flop 2%, Turn 0%)

BB wins 63,152

Previously at this table, I had showed up with AQs that I also openshoved with 32 bb (that's actually how I doubled up to 37K), so I thought people knew that my range was not so capped (and were somewhat fearing it).

OK, everything cool for me, it was your decision.. I was just afraid that it was a missclick..

However, 40bb's is really deep at slow structured tournaments like SM.. you shouldn't do that sicko :) gn!

Dear investors,

I do acknowledge that the shove in the bustout hand was a mistake. My calculations suggest that it was worth about 2.5K chips on average, or 1/4 of my initial prize equity (i.e. 1/4 of $200).

So I've decided to reward you with some kind of 'spewpensation'.

Namely, in case I qualify for the Irish Open ME via the tickets Paddy Power has given me (3 x €4.40 Cheap Seats + 2 x €20 Stage B; these satellites are to be played by middle April under the poker alias RETUovervvip, I'll try to do it asap) and cash in that event, I'll give you (as a freeroll) the same percentages of my gross winnings in the IO ME as you had in the Sunday Million itt. (This will, however, apply only to the first IO seat I win in the satties; in case I win more of them, I'll be able to sell them and you won't get free shares of those.)

Thanks for sponsoring me, gl with your poker and lives! (And happy birthday, Frankie!)

GL selling anything after this. Mindblowing bad .

GL to you with posting staking offers here while being a basic member :f_tongue:

I intended this package not for personal profit (otherwise I wouldn't have played at all, especially having sold only 24%, and ridiculously cheap, besides), but as 1) a social event (members railing each other!), 2) an experiment to prove the inefficiency of the staking market... which I did :f_biggrin:

All right, so I've finally got an opportunity to check this with HRC...

Vs nitty calling ranges (QQ+, AK for most), HRC says that shoving with Q8o has a value of -0.22% of the 'prize pool' (i.e. of the total number of chips at the table - 340333) ~ -750 chips as opposed to folding (2.5x'ing and folding to a resteal by everyone but SB is marginal, valued at -0.02):

Spoiler

Vs Nash ranges (JJ+, AJs+, AKo for most), it's -0.43, or ~ -1500 chips (15% of the initial stack). But I didn't see apparent fish at that table, except myself and maybe BTN, so I don't think I'd face wider continuation ranges.

I'd appeciate it if I was told how people's real restealing ranges deviate from the Nash ones provided by HRC above.

I can't assess what would be the value for playing this postflop; I only know that playing postflop OOP sucks, maybe I'm too afraid of that because of the PLO background.

In a NLO8 MTT, I'd of course get away with shoving big stacks with marginal hands... but in NLHE, equities run too damn far away from each other :f_mad:

Edit: under the additional assumption that the opponents thought I (almost) never r/f, the spew value becomes -0.26% of the total chips at the table:

Hi, tonypmm
That is more than fair and much appreciated -- thank you .

To the people complaining about the particular play:

It is important to remember that when you stake someone, you relinquish control of your money to the horse, to play as he sees fit

tonypmm was clear at the outset that he wasn't the world's greatest NLHE MTT player.

Live and learn.

Best of luck to all,

Snapshove imo. I would shove:

22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q2s+, J2s+, T2s+, 92s+, 82s+, 72s+, 62s+, 52s+, 42s+, 32s, A2o+, K2o+, Q2o+, J2o+, T2o+, 95o+, 84o+, 74o+, 64o+, 54o

..in that spot.

AA i would probably minraisefold. Because of the variance.

Jc 5c is a minraise/4bet. You gotta have Jackson Five in your minraise range.

Actually, I'm gonna play the first EUR 20 one that runs at all tonight (the one that could have started at 19:14 GMT was cancelled because of the lack of participants :f_cry: ), gl 2 us! I'm not gonna bump the thread after each satty played, just check out the OP for result updates once in a while. (And yeah, I'll be nittier now :f_wink: )

Posters itt might as well register to the 21:14 one to make it run - my presence will bump their ROI by a lot :f_biggrin:

Gosh, can I ask why someone even buy his shares?

Staking is a game of incomplete information, like poker :f_rolleyes:

But even with that kind of moves, my ROI could be more than -8% (all the shares were bought with 8-15% markdown) because of an overlay possibility given the $8M guarantee (who knew that it wouldn't happen?).

Also, mind that I make such moves only on massive tilt. By 'massive', I mean that the keyboard of my laptop had stopped responding, so I couldn't write notes and rail updates, and was forced to click all the action buttons with the mouse, which happens once in a blue moon. I was afraid my laptop would break down at all and I'd be forced to go to another apartment where I have a desktop, in which case I'd prefer to either bust or get a big stack so that blinds didn't eat me during the computer switch.

Shoving like mad when I have computer issues has become a compulsive habit since the times when I was masstabling STTs on iPoker on the said desktop. When the tables started lagging, I would make slightly marginal shoves (more acceptable in late-stage STTs of course) to have the table count reduced (if I busted) and save my stack in the remaining tourneys from being blinded out by a grave CPU overload and disconnection. Thankfully, I now have a beast of a CPU and such problems are gone :)

I tried to rationalise that move because tilting on stake is a death sin too.

I'm sitting with ~50% of chips in play in the 4-max of the 21:14 B Stg1, surrounded by 3 recreationals (now 2 - one of them went busto as I was writing), it would be sad not to convert this into a e150 ticket...

But before I forget, I have to clarify that if I get the BI+fee back (for the 2nd-3rd place), they'll be paid into my account in cash, so I've decided not to retry the sat but to keep this money to myself; that's a minor difference that will save my time, after all, I was talking about qualification via tickets :f_tongue:

Sorry for not envisioning such a situation earlier.

In both 4.40s, I 1-bulleted and went busto, see OP.

Edit: alright, let me keep that e20 for the 2nd place to myself as a consolation - I had a 7-to-4 chip lead over a really weak HU opp (my small mistake was paying him 2400 chips - out of 22K in play - with rivered bottom two when he suddenly donked into me, but otherwise it was he who was making mistakes), but then JJ<A7s and ATs<K3s coolers busted me... 1x4.40 + 1x20 tickets remaining.

Edit / 6th 19:14: it's unfair to pocket BI+fee refunds as they sometimes constitute a big part of the prize pool... so, for each such refund, I'll either play one more satty of this type when I get a ticket to it as a prize, or refund a cash equivalent in the first week of April (when Paddy stops the Tournament Championship and it's clear how many tickets I end up with).

I'm in the 19:14 e20 satty, gl2us!

I'm in the 19:14 e20 satty, gl2us!

So, after all the tickets have been played through, we're left with only one e20 BI+fee compensation as a prize :f_cry: If I get a e20 ticket as a prize in the Tourney Championship (which I find quite likely given my planned volume in JP SnGs), I'll play it through 'on stake' to account for this BI refund, and the investors will have their %s of either IO ME if I qualify, or the BI refund (paid out in cash in April in the latter case).

Today's satties:

T# 821713478 e20 - the key flip was AJo<99 (15 bb, SB vs UTG's 3x open); prior to that, I had double-barrelled A3 as a SB overlimper and then check/called it for 35%-ish of my stack on 25A63 and lost to 44 (rivered straight).

T# 822603963 e4.40 - I was rather tight until I found myself with 16 bb, shoved A9o from an earlyish position and ran into 88 and AK.
