So a lot of stuff happened the last few days. HU championship, No salt, no sugar thing, and poker in general.
No sugar, no salt:
This goes really well. My body is asking for sugar most of the time since it's really hard to go cold turkey on that one. I notice that I need to eat more actually rather than less to keep that need out of the way. The no salt part is really good for me aswell. In the first week I lossed 6 pounds. Most of that is probably that less salt in your body means that you can hold a lower amount of liquid. Thus losing weight because of it. I'm sure though that I'm eating less bad calories making for weight loss aswell.
So I am managing it so far, but still have 2.5 weeks roughly and we will see what the whole difference has been. The biggest change so far is being a bit better concentrated and being able to sleep much better than I used to.
Poker in general:
I'm definetly beating the $5-$20ish limit by a mile. From $5-$9 I have a ROI of 25% (small sample but have to use them to fill up during non peak hours) and I have a 5% ROI on the $10-$15-$20 combined (much bigger sample that actually gives a accurate result). So I am very happy with that. Tim64 has helped me a great deal with that and I am very happy I decided to start working with him.
HU Championship:
I played the semi-finals today. We agreed on best of 5 with regular blind levels. The match was really fast and I took it down 4-0 (we played 2 matches at a time hence the 4th game). To be fair Tony didn't really connect in the all-ins, although I was ahead 70-80% of the all-ins. He was really unfortunet not to win the first game as he had me down to 300 chips after a couple of hands. I came back with 10bb push got back to 700, got AA and worked my way to getting him down to 200-300 chips.
I think overall I played the match really well, he was limping a lot which I don't think works in the agressive games of today and I tried to get him out of his comfort zone. Besides the limping he had another thing working against him imo. I think he 3-bet shoved to wide vs my opens (that or he expected me to fold way more than I did). For instances reshoving K2o for 20-22bb effective is not going to be profitable. I think my calling range is just to wide for that to be good. I think I won the last 2 games atleast because of those shoves. All combined it was a tough match though.
The 4-0 was definetly not deserved like that!!
Anyway I will have to wait until sunday to see who my next opponent will be in the Final. I am really looking forward to that match-up. It's either Frankie or Lemon36. TBH I prefer to play vs frankie, just because I've talked to him a bit before and in blogs and stuff. I'm stoked for it and really am going to do my best to take the victory. Also I hope the commentators will root for me a bit more next time (sigh...)
I will post a graph probably somewhere at the end of the month!
