A new beginning...

So... The Swedish community shut down.
It really wasn't a matter of IF, but WHEN. What remains is the Swedish corner. However, both the quality and activity of the community have dropped significantly in the recent year.
I tried to write on alternative Swedish poker communities, but never really liked any of them. Anyway, I need somewhere where I can document my progress. Hence, I find myself here in the English forum.

About me
I am 27 years old from Sweden. Before starting last year I had not played poker regularly for almost 2 years. The reason I stopped playing was studies, absence of motivation and the fact that I had grinded for so long at the online tables.
I was burned out.

I started playing again for some extra cash. It started well and poker was kind of fun again. It still goes weeks without me getting a single hand played. I'm trying to better myself in this regard.

My poker career: the short version
I started playing poker sometime in 2005 , though not very serious. It took probably really one and a half years before I really started to try and win frequently and climb the levels. Tilt was my biggest enemy many times and it took some time for me to really understand this. I thought I understood, but that was not the case.

In 2008 I started playing poker for real and in late 2009 I was able to make my living. However, a somewhat limited living. :f_cool:

I had some success, but never managed to win the really big money. In early 2012, I had grown tired of poker, and wanted to do something new. I stopped playing and has not played since.

Well.. That's it for now. I'm going to check around for other blogs, and hope to get to know some of you guys. :rolleyes:

Oh, and at the moment I'm mostly playing NLSH.
Also, sorry for my rusty English. I haven't practice written English in many years. :)

I think I played you on SvS a few days ago. I don't recall if I won or lost tho. :)

If im not totally of tracks, i think you play HU cashgame right?

I also play only HUcash and it would be really nice to have someone that focus on HU to talk and sweat with.

And also talk about how to beat the tilt-issue, cuz i have some struggle with that and it can be extremly costly in HU ♦

In regards of fish-factor, SvenskaSpel would be the obvious answer. But I don't really like the software one bit. No auto-rebuy and other bad features.
I must admit that Ipoker isn't as fishy, but there's still a lot of bad players. :f_biggrin:

I'd love to play on PokerStars again, and I probably will in the near future once I proven myself to beat the Ipoker field.

You aren't wrong. I have played HU cash, and I still do occasionally. But to be honest I don't think it is as fun as playing 6max. I was winning at it but I'm sure you can find better player who are willing to sweat with you. :)

On the tilt-issue thing I would love to help in any way I can. The problem is that tilt is very individual and the things that work for me might not work for you. There's no really simple way to better tilt management. :f_cry:

So my plan with poker and this blog are the following:

Results-oriented plan:

  • Move down to NL10 if down to 10 BI on current level
  • Move up to NL50 when 30 BI on that level

Volume-oriented plan:

  • Play 15 000 hands for April
  • During April only 2 tables (speed poker)

Study-oriented plan:

  • Watch 5 videos for April (and take notes)
  • Analyze 3 sessions for April

Mental-oriented plan:

  • Construct a warm-up plan before session

Blog-oriented plan:

  • Document weekly progress.
  • Evaluate oriented plans monthly

Last week:

A decent week. I played mostly good, but lost one or two buy-ins because of spew. Also some auto-pilot tendencies that I'm not to happy about.

I'm working on getting used to warming up. It's a 3 step process. First clean my desk. Second choose focus for the session, for example 3betting ranges or such. Third don't start by bluffing off a stack.
It's kinda working. :f_eek:

Anyway 13BB/100 is okay for now :), and I'm halfway through this month planned volume.

I've been sick for almost 3 weeks, and tons of work in school so I haven't played much this month. First week I was really knocked out.

When I played I have played incredible bad and tilted almost every time.
It's been a really though month. Both in poker and life in general. I don't really want to write more about it at this point. Maybe later. ♠_cry:

I have about one more week this semester. I will start to play more after that. I hope. :rolleyes:
