Pre Flop: (pot: 210) Hero has A♣ J♠

fold, fold, Hero raises to 252, BTN calls 252, fold, fold

Flop: (714, 2 players) A♠ 4♠ 2♣
Hero checks, BTN bets 9,698 and is all-in, Hero ?(

I know that cbet is usually std here, but I rather wanted to c/call, keeping his range wider, might bluff some hands. Didn't really expect this move... What's the bottom of our call range?

Hi,

Since that situation would almost never happen I would likely c/c with A4s+
Huge overbet shoves show more often strength than air and I don´t see reason why you should risk AJ with marginal spot. But if you´re against maniac, then c/c with any tp hand is fine.

best regards,

Hi all,

I'm thinking AJ+ against maniacs, but A4+ against the rest.

I think we will see this overshove with some top pairs from maniacs, just because derpaderp. But against the rest: they are probably overshoving 42s+ or thereabouts.

We dont check 2pair+ on the flop, so we do not call any hands against him. Not a problem for you?

we might and we can go for a c/r sometimes. and since he's unknown (5 hands) I don't think we have to balance vs unknown, he won't exploit this for a 7bb big pot.
but vs a player with more info this could be a reason as well

Hi,

I could see myself checking AA here maybe 5% of the time.... but no the balance issue is not a problem for me here ever. In fact on a lot of boards I will have near 100% fold to overbet shove... at least the first time!
