Hello everyone, my name is Chill, I'd say a newbie to the Holdem Poker world, been playin 6 months now on-line. Below is my story on how I got hooked on On-line poker (for those who dare to read a long story ;(). In the past , me and the gang usually did play poker on Friday evenings for fun. We played the standard fun games like "follow the bitch", "midnight baseball" "stud" and the other hilarious games we invented as we drank more beers (imagine mixing UNO rules with poker! ?(). At one time another friend introduced us to Holdem and everyone seemed excited at first. However, playing tournament style with just 1 winner did not appeal to most of the guys, who would be when all you have to do when you're booted out is to just keep on chugging the beer and wait til the heads-up is over, no fun in that eh? So Holdem eventually went away. Then about a year ago, I got introduced into what a Facebook is :) and eventually a friend mentions there is a Holdem apps over there, nice to play. Hesitantly, I tried, and what do you know, starting with 500 chips goes to 10K. Ok, keep on playing for couple of weeks... then 100k, this IS fun..... then.........bust start all over again. Slowly buildup from 100 then after several months into the millions wow! Imagine if this is real monies now hahaha. Maybe try the real one, hmmmm interesting idea. At this stage I was wondering why the players usually chat me the words, noob, fish, :f_biggrin: donk. I sometimes end up making a player very very angry :evil:. So comes April of year 2011 and decided to open up a real account this time. Started looking for which sites can be accessed in the Philippines and found a couple, it says Pokerstars and Fulltilt. Now which one? Got to research some more.... and then come last week of April, boom! Black Friday! What the? Now I wanna play and this? Oh, wait a minute this site is still open, ah, got it, closed for US players only, goodie, I can still open. Ok let's open one at this cool site, it says FullTilt. &diams; At about the same time I also wanted to add a bit of strategy to my poker plays so typed Poker strategy at search engine and voila! A lot of articles at PokerStrategy.com Wow this is a good site, ok, ok, register as a member and keep on reading. Ah, so that's what those things are called Overpair hmmm many things to learn here. Unfortunately, read a little and played a lot, not too keen on BRM and after 3 weeks, you know how it goes, busto. Deposit again and read some more and be more carefull next time, go down one notch in limit. And now the BR steadily climbs 50% more, good, good! Here comes the next boom, FullTilt closed down by gaming commission. Grrrr! X( So deposit is tied up, what to do next? I know, this site which gives a $50 for passing a quiz, is it true? just try it. After 2 tries, yeey passed and yes it is true!. Onto another site, let's try ParytPoker this time. No BRM, no starting capital very quickly, sad. So starts a vicious cycle of Deposit-bust Deposit bust until today where I only am hanging again with an almost busted amount but still playable, but now applying BRM and playing it at NL2 for the first time.. An advice to new on-line players that have playmoney experience only and starting out like me. Try and learn from NL2, it's a cheaper tuition fee of learning the basics and finding out for example that your top pair 10 is beat by villain's overpair QQ hole cards. And in addition, learn from this awesome site Pokerstrategy.com &spades;_thumbsup: Have a nice day everyone! :P

Been playin Heads-up now for the past days and I should say not doing bad.

WHOA!! did I mis-click or cursur somehow jump to next level?! No problem there it's +$3.50 anyway!

now why won't I try this $3.50, hmmmm...

WHOA!! I don't think I misclicked!!! cursor must have jump again!!!
OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! FUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

and that's how I learned to set-up my SNG filter for less than $10 only ♦

Playing solely HU for past 2 weeks and donking ok, er i mean doing ok I might add...

Then last night I got a chat comment which was totally different from the normal ones I get (fish, stupid, idiot, donk), and this shocked me totally I could not even respond to the guy!

When the table opened and I saw the image of the opponent, made a sigh as I recognized the guy as one that was very tough to beat and out of maybe 6 occasions we clashed I am not sure if I even got to win 2 of them.

Then over the course of the game (3rd to the last deal) he chats:

Well that got me by surprise, for one, getting it from a tough opponent (and a FIRST positive comment, in my whole poker career if you can call it that), and two, my head went somewhere, was this a mental tactic to the game? Cause after the comment I suddenly became conscious of my moves hahaha ♦
Was also thinking maybe he has some application which is showing my win-loss?

2 deals later,
Flop:
Had an underpair with gutshot, ALL-IN! he calls with an overpair and FD (whoa!)
turn..... river....
Got my gutshot, am I a luckbox or what?!!! ♦

Table closed and I did not even had the chance to say thank you sir....

New Year again so have to review how I did against 2012 goals, so here goes:

[ :)] Still BRM, BRM, BRM! practiced, getting better
[ ] Re-read articles at PS read about 10 only
[ :P] Read 4 poker books ;read 4 books
[ ] Post hands for evaluation; ok on this
[ ] Learn how to review own sessions, graphs; practiced some
[ :)] Set up HUD and try to use it in play ; got HEM2 and using some
[ ] Try to understand ranges and how to apply to game ; nothing learned
[ ] More study-analysis time than 2011 (2011 was like 95% play 5% study); slight improvement
[ ] Learn more about Equity, use Equilab, ICM... learned little
[ ♦ ] Recoup 2011 busted deposits ; bottomline best improvement, got half back playing HU = $700 .

so for 2013 goals, I'll just make it simple and have only 2 goals:

[ ] Learn Pot odds hahahaha ♦
[ ] Get bankroll to $3000 level (a good goal? or a good wish? hahaha ♦ )

I know one of the problems of poker players now is the constant handling of the mouse. Well after sometime, I am feeling some soreness in my right hand specially on the wrist area.

So one night tried something new, why not use the left hand sort of to rest the right hand? Yep, good idea :

- brought mouse over to left hand, on bare table first not transferring the mouse
pad

- tried clicking using left middle finger on right click button of mouse, hmmm weird
feeling.

- after couple of hands, woke up with a monster at the flop, set! being OP, check

- villain starts to bet aggressively, Call

- turn, check, villain bets aggressively, Call (whoooooo...)

- river, board completes possible villains flush draw but my set becomes a full house (whoaaa!!!) BET POT, BET POT, click-click slider to bet amount then click bet button fast! common hurry!

- being clumsy still with the left hand I try to click on the button for bet in a hurry and with the slippery table surface, remember the mouse pad is supposed to be the best surface your mouse is on? the cursor positioned over the bet button when pressed slides to "Check" ... What? WHAT? I wanna BET! I wanna BET!

- villain then clicks ........... "Check"

- AAAAAHHHHHHHH!

- at least I won that hand....now back to sore right hand.... ♦

While playing NL10 ZOOM one night...

Had high pair on the CO when...

Chair starts shaking...

Then monitor starts shaking...

In my mind "Earthquake... Earthquake!!! Gosh but I'm CO with high pair!!! "

So what does a normal person playing poker do in this situation??? RUN!!!

But let me re-phrase that question...
