Playing Poker for a Living

I think it might be better not only to compare being poker pro with having "boring office job". I mean sure, it is stnd to work in the office nowadays and it is stnd that it may seem boring. But if you really want to make a fair and complex comparison, you should be considering other ways as well.

You like water and adventure? Why not consider being scuba diving instructor? You like PC games? Why not consider being a reviewer/redactor for some game portal/magazine. And even in the office there are lots of job which may be challenging and fun.

Because at the end of the day it is not just abt hourly and some indifferent office job. It is about big world full of opportunities and it is about choosing what would you personally enjoy. (That being said if you are from some developing country where the best you can do is to work in factory for 2 USD / per hour, you maybe should take your chances in poker or consider leaving )

BTW: I am part time pro - I play 3-4 hours a day, making 3-4k USD a month on average. Poker is my only source of income, but given relatively low amount of time I dedicate to it I do not dare to call myself full time pro (life is too short to spend all my youth sitting at home clicking cards online ) ♦

Full-time may be realistic for some people and quite frankly it is not a bad idea considering how the economy is going right now.

In Ontario, Canada, over 34,000 jobs were lost this month so having another source of income is going to be beneficial long term.

In europe, at least some countries like lithuania - its the opposite - economy is growing, salaries are growing.

But usually everything is bit delaying comparing to america , like crisis at 2008

Also I dont think thats its better for poker if economy is going bad - fish have less money to loose also.
