Mid-July Challenge

Hey Guys,

Alright so I did create an introduction thread which is right here if you're interested: Back at PS

So just to follow it up, the reason that brought me back here technically is 'motivation'.. Lately I'm becoming too lazy and really have terrible time putting in the volume.. I've been through this issue before, and did make some challenges as well. But it didn't change a thing. However decided to re-do it again since I have no choice but to try.

I feel like I'm no longer enjoying what I'm doing(particularly grinding CGs) and even thought of switching to 6-Max Hypers(though I'm scared to even try).. So decided to give this CG grind probably a month and a half and see if I will get any improvement..

I normally play 10k hands a day and take 1 off a week. My normal goal every month is around 260k.. This month I played less than a 100k :) but that's also because of my NL10 attempt which did not turn out pretty well..

It's 14th here in the Philippines, and want to start this challenge tomorrow. As of this day I can even barely make 10k hands/day, so I'll try to push myself starting tomorrow.

I only have 15 days to grind, but that consist of 2 offs which I'm not planning to take. So basically I'm looking to grind 17 days. So the challenge is to hit 170k by the end of the month, 150k is acceptable taking the 2 offs but still I want 170k. I don't normally set monetary goals or even bb/100 goals. But just to set my expectation, I'm expecting to end at somewhere around 5-8bb/100. I normally do at 6-7bb, so I think my expectation is reasonable. But it's not about how much I'll make, it's all about me getting that drive back, it's just starting to fall apart..

Anyway this is too long now see you guys tomorrow.

This is my session goals for tomorrow:

1. Keep a cool head- this has been a 'Huge' issue for me over the past few weeks. It's like I'm flipping out a lot and letting my ego get the best out of me. Not sure how I'm going to improve this yet, but will start off by probably just noticing where they arises and work from there.

2. Isolate bad players more- My whole strategy revolves around playing against bad players, especially from LP and just raising them a lot. I started noticing that I sometimes tend to auto-pilot and decided to play more actively tomorrow..

3. 3-bet pots- Will be taking notes of hands where this occurs and post it here..

4. Play at least 2.5k each session before taking a break :)

Those are the main thing I want to focus during my sessions tomorrow.. Just something to start it off

Interesting that someone is playing micro stakes for living. Are you still planning to move up levels in future?

Hey Guys,

Change of plan on day 1, instead of taking an off this coming Friday I have to move it today. I forgot we have a couple of live tourneys going on today, still played 2k hands today though.. And was up 2 BI :)

Off to the casino. See you guys tomorrow..

This day sucks, as mentioned on my previous post. Day 1 was my off since we played a couple of live tourneys, made it to final in 1 of them ended at 8 place. I got 88 w 8bb, got it in 3-way against QTo and QQ..

Today as my Day 2, it's another fail day. We have a huge storm here in the Philippines, which they turn the electricity off til now 8:00PM. The only thing I can do now it to sleep.. Anyway I played 16 6-Max Hypers and made $9.21.. lol

So tomorrow is another day hopefully everything works ok..

Thanks mate, to be honest I'm not even sure if I'll still be able to end up at 150k by the end of month. This storm really sucks, it damage one of the power plant here in the Philippines. We're having rotation blackout everyday. Hope today is the last one.

As the title says I'll be closing this challenge. Things didn't turn out pretty well for me since I started this one. Storm, electricity and some motivation issues, name it! However I'll be starting a new one, I just want to continue making challenges til the end of this month to keep my self going..
