After a total drop of around $-600 (12bi) over just the last 3-4K hands !!!!!!!!, finally managed to change the direction of the green line :f_cool:

To be honest was kind of frustrated that the trip at 50nl might would end if the drop would continue, especially with the same rate.

Volume is down, though really had to take breaks to avoid mistakes and sustain a good mental status.

Goals of previous week:
Improve your note taking - this will never complete :)

Analyse one good Villain / week - completed

play at least 15K / week - not completed (12.720)

Goals for next week:
Improve your note taking: I think I have to keep this goal long enough. Some times I am bored to keep notes / other times I miss notes I should be taking. Tones of work to be done in this part...probably one reason of slow improvement is that I am not exciting of doing it.. BUT helps!! I also noticed that when I don't keep notes probably I m not playing my A game.. kind of auto piloting. That's another reason to keep notes, helps in keeping concentration.

Analyse one good Villain / week: This helps a lot. I should do more than one actually, but since I barely accomplish my current tasks I ll leave that as it is for now.

play at least 15K / week / at least more than previous week

Not solid hand of the day

Maybe not good flop to cbet in 4bet pot.. but not sure.

And sizing probably should be larger in this kind of board, but we don't want to bet really big without equity, so that's may another reason to check / fold.

1) When we raise a paired board ip (i.e. JJ3) we shouldn't do it bc we rep nothing.
On the other hand when we get raised from unknown we fold cause we usually have nothing. Hmm. Why then not raise our air on paired boards if Villain folds a lot?... or if Villain is unknown?

-VS 90% cbetters, I try to reraise them alot on dry/paired boards, because they usually have nothing and what can they do, nothing :P

2) How we should defend vs squeeze from unknown btn when we are utg or mp?

-Good question

3) Villain 3bets hero's utg and shows 79s. => he 3bets hero polarized. Should hero start 4bet trush and flat strong hands, AA, KK ?

-I prefer only flatting AA because if ace drops on the board, wich it allways does when I have KK :P, then we cant committ ourselfs as easily. But AA definitly flat vs aggro 3bettor.

Good luck man, will add u.

Nooo, no raise, you still have another player to act and you have no equity, it's very very likely that you get almost zero folds. So you'll have to play river a lot with a hand you don't really want to.

If you want to bluff, bluff flop. I wouldn't but it's okay.

Well, for Friday no complains... I mean I can't expect to finish +$.. but at least didn't loose much :)

Not solid hand of the day

Not sure if I should bet turn.. but I guess is fine.

When villain raises the turn he doesn't rep a lot, and I have some
reads vs him that he raises flop light.. but not sure if odds+equity
are enough to justify a call..

Hmm 79s, 56s, pocket 6s. 79s probaly bets flop. So its down to 56s and pocket 6s. The bluffs in hes range would be bunch of draws. The question is does the A on river hit alot of hes draw range?

After almost 60K hands at 50nl still hero cannot avoid old bad habits.

Some data analysis showed that I do terrible from BB, i.e. when I cold call vs an opener. Having spotted that leak I tried to play a session and focus to not spew from BB!!

... and then this happened!!

not solid hand of the day (1)

Here I start leveling myself from the flop.

Villain is very aggressive and loose, like 33/24 with Afq: 53/40/30 over 300 hands.

So the plan was to call the flop and check raise any turn which improves my equity (except Q,J where I would check / call).

Now the A gives me the gutshot... BUT IS NOT GOOD CARD TO CHECK RAISE CAUSE HITS VILLAINS RANGE A LOT .

Now after had decided to play without spew from BB I made that play..

I think I deserve to have a low win rate from that position. And yes, if you want to move up and not play the micros forever you have to decide that those plays SHOULD NEVER HAPPENING. After that I was very frustrated with myself, and still am.. and yes session ended +$ .. but ev is way minus.

Hero mucked J Q and lost (-$33.75 net)
CO mucked and won $64.75 ($31 net)

not solid hand of the day (2)

In this hand I bet the flop (which is good and I didn't used to do in the past)... BUT I DONT BARREL THE TURN cause I m afraid that I will get raised.

The thing is that I know that I should have bet the turn... but that old thought process ruined my play. And yes, river comes such to punish my bad play.

The funny is that given the odds and the board texture this might is a call. But I was tilted when I realized I didn't bet the turn that I didn't even considered the possibility of calling. How big fish I am !! :f_frown:

And this comes only one or two hands after the non solid hand (1) :(

Hopefully I ll learn from my mistakes one day.

Not solid hand of the day

Villain is a passive fish (afq:27) who folds a lot vs 1/2psb on the flop, that's why I cbet so small.

On the turn I fire for value... please myself bet bigger next time!!

Now on the river I make a small bet to get called by Jx. I expect that this type of opponent wont raise light.

However, my small size might induce some unexpected bluffs. On the other hand he can still call half pot bet with Jx. So my sizing probably is wrong.

What I was thinking is that if he raises he doesn't have air in his range + a passive fish never bluff raises river.. right? But this kind of thinking process might be wrong.. I should re-consider my strategy in similar spots.

Cause I am in a loosing period I ll post a hand I won to slightly fix my mood.

Some times a min bet can work vs an aggro fish.

Villain is a fish. I should have shove the river.

I have to realize how much value I leave at the table in spots like this!!

If only I could exploit a little more the fishes it may could be enough -without any other improvements to my game- to be a solid winner.

The difference between a player who crushes the fishes and a player who just plays with the fishes is huge!! Unfortunately I belong to the second type -if I am not the fish my self :)- of players.

Hey asimos,

Nice blog!
I saw you are playing NL50 rush. How is the traffic and when is it the best?
I am playing NL25 rush on FT. But I saw there are fewer players at NL50 and I was thinking moving to other site.

Regarding this last hand. Why do you CB so big on flop? You kinda isolate yourself against better hands.
I think your bet on river is kind of good, he might be scared to a shove.

Good luck!

Thanks :)

Volume can be low, especially after 12 midnight local time (GMT + 1). The other day the total number of players was just 14!! So yes, if pool is crucial for you I would choose another site.
So why I stay here...probably cause it is easier to reach maximum rate of rakeback than in Stars. But next year probably I m moving there anyway.

Regarding this last hand: With this type of holding we cbet flop with the plan to abandon if we face further action. So I bet large to discourage AQ, AJ type of hands to float, since they have 6 outs vs my holding (actually almost all his range has 6 outs at least vs 33), and it is very rare I m improving at next streets.
So basically, since most of the times I fire once I go for a larger bet... and yes when we are called we are not happy :) -but we don't want to get called-... but basically as you can see I always hit the turn :)
