Ugh, that's some shitty run right there ♦ I was actually really really surprised when I opened your blog this morning as I don't recall a losing update since...well, never ♦ That also means it doesn't worry me at all, you'll turn it around in no time!
Just to let you know, been following your blog for a really long time now, so you can be sure there's more ppl that follow daily but just don't post. And greetings from SLO btw
As for:
I've been getting a fairly decent amount of questions about this project and since I would like to make a present to the readers of my blog for completing the challenge and at the same time answer all the questions I'm looking for a solution how to combine this. I have some thoughts on my mind but would appreciate ideas from you guys.
Maybe start doing Vlog; as in video blog. You can do a few minute recordings where you can talk about a lot of different shit, say very much in very little time. Just a suggestion
@MJQuads
TX neighbor for the kind supportive words. Also suggestion noted.
@ilares
Haha, google translator didn't brought up a clear message so you will have to translate it ♦
Hi there,
So Monday was reserved for the US Open final and a more relaxing day. But the next 3 days were full grind mode which means approx. 10h/day. And I was able to win something back and cut the loses for the month TX to the NL1k table where I got really good action + run good.
I can also announce that I will be holding a webinar. The reason is fairly simple, I get a lot of questions, PMs,Emails and I thought it would be good to maybe answer it publicly and give a chance to everybody to hear the answer and as well ask anything they are interested it. It also a present of mine for finishing the 100k$ challenge to the reader. You can view it as a live AMA.
4 grinding days are in the books. And what to say about them? Well, I have a good news. I got owned on the NL1k tables.
You might ask yourself what's so good about getting owned in poker? It's awesome because you realize what exactly are you missing, what are your leaks and you realize better how you actually made money up till now. Basically me and Gordon had a sweat session where we set at some NL1k thinking that one guy sitting on 3 tables was a fish. We found out that he was just a weaker reg but he wasn't really interesting in the big picture. But there was another reg that I normally didn't really notice but he owned me pretty bad in this 4 handed games. I really didn't have a good strategy to answer to all his weird lines/sizes. So Gordon gave a lot of tips how to improve and beat such guys and told me what I'm going to expect if I want to play this NL1k games on daily basis. I got a lot of motivation and ideas from this session and was probably one of does 'sweet'' 1/2BI loses. Some things you obviously only realize when you lose/pay for them.
Asides from that I working on my webinar. I'm struggling a bit with the technical part but that's something I always mastered when dealing with new stuff. My real concern is the internet connection in the place where I'm heading next week. So until I get there it's and check out the situation it's gonna be a bit harder to set a definite date.
But yeah, I recovered all loses for the month and I'm a bit in green again. I came back from over 10k$ deficit which makes me feel good but hopefully things won't turn around in the next couple of grinding days. Also I noticed some changes in my games which can be clearly see in red line but have to find out how bad/good influence it has on results. More work for me.
I'm pretty much done for the month. Leaving tomorrow for 2 week trip. Not gonna be playing much, maybe some HU for learning purpose or some MTT but mostly gonna work off table since my DO TO list is already HUGE despite this being semi holidays. Really looking forward to the off table work and can't actually wait to start working on it.
The webinar is from the technical point of view almost done. The only part that is missing is the date. So you can expect in the next couple of days a link to it combined with a monthly report.
Another month came to an end so it's time to report about.
In one word I would describe this month as a COMEBACK. I was stuck at one point over -10k$ but managed to turn it around and still reached the green zone. I think the downer was a mix of bad play combined with people having the top of their range especially on NL1k. On the other hand I won almost every AI on NL600 and NL1k which can be see on the EV line as well.
Overall I made 9k$ post-RB which is still a decent results. So in general very proud about myself for turning things around.
About my game, I worked more my CB frequencies or I should better say I worked on defining and playing my hands according to the category they fit in (value, SD value, bluff) which can be see as well pretty clearly in the graph(red line not surpassing the blue line). It's a little bit of experimenting from my side but since I wanna improve I have to see if there is any better solutions out there.
How fast you've moved up in stakes me it's seems unreal. You are such a inspiration to those, who don't believe that micro stakes could be beaten. Hope you make million in the next year.
HansTheGreat, awesome playing skills! And cashy too Say, when u were playing NL5 ( NEW Challenge: Watch how I turn $50 into $10.000 without using advanced strategies ), was it 4 tables of Speed Poker at a time? How much tables could you handle simultaneously at that time? And would you still play that many tables if the Speed Poker pool was, say, 60 people at the moment.
Kinda struggling with that aspect right now...
And would you give some tips or advice on how to table select? Or maybe record a video?
@druzhische
I played even up to 10 tables but that wasn't really profitable. And the amount of tables weren't really influenced by the player pool.
Hi everyone,
Long time no update from my side. It was a really intense vacation with a lot of reflections. I did some off the table work that I mentioned in the previous post but the main issue was if I(we) should move to Italy.
My GF and I are already living for a while together and she got a really decent job opportunity in Italy which was for here pretty tempting. I already mentioned in one of my posts that I'm thinking about moving abroad and now it was the decision whether Italy should be my first destination. Given that I have a lot of Italian relatives and friends from primary school that are already there + I speak the language since I was a kid + Some ski resorts + Big fan of their nature and cucine it seemed logical to me accept the situation and go for it. Although I said to my GF that I don't plan to spent my whole time at here place but rather travel through Italy. ♦
Till next update I leave you guys with the replay of the webinar and a new Youtube Video Series:
I guess time for a update. I haven't really played almost 0 hands this months(here and there some 1 table session on some micro/low stakes for fun on smartphone) but other then that I worked on my course and so I said to myself no playing for me until it's done since I have a prop bet with Gordon worth 3kEUR(if I start grinding could grind for ages and work on my game and so I would lose my bet). Please don't ask me here anything about since I do wanna stick to the PS rules.
Other then that I definitely enjoy my current time despite a lot of things going on. I have this huge desire to go back to the tables and so I sweat some people. In the video below you can find one of those sweats recorded by a friend of mine.
Other then that I will record the 2nd part of my Youtube Video Series on Friday 8pm CET on the Hive Network so for those of you who wanna play me or simply wanna be in a video, look around at the NL5 tables. So cya there and GL at the tables!
@Mrilidek
Hehe, the fact is that I knew it had nothing to do with HU. Otherwise I probably would have offered you something and hope that Gordon forgot about reading this blog so the whole conspiracy thing wouldn't blow up. ♠_cool: ♦
Once again long time no update and on top of that I'm the last one making a monthly report.
But let's go to the the point straight, in October I made ................... 0$. ♦
The reality is even if I won or lost a couple of bucks I didn't keep track. I played some micros for fun like a fish on smartphone just to satisfy my poker needs but other than that I enjoyed a different type of poker work and life as well and in general I didn't play any recorded session.
Life wise, it was really a lovely month. Spent quality time with my GF, my favorite team made a historical victory, was watching a couple of nights hools vs cops fights on my balcony, had birthday, eat & drunk very good and on top of that traveled a bit. Not much I would personally change. The only negative thing was that I was as well sick in the wrong time. But you know, things can always be ideal.
Poker wise, it was different. Kind of relaxed with more thinking about my poker future, coachings, sweats and of course the course . The bet against Gordon ended up as a tie since we both managed to finish our courses till 1st November(please do not ask me questions about this since I'm not allowed to talk about it) although it was really close.
It was close because I was sick but once again one of the things about Gordon is that he can be so motivating for me, that's almost amazing. I had like a flew and was like in bed with fiver and the I all of sudden got an Email saying that I can't win anymore because his finished. In general it looked like how was already seeing the money. Hahaha, I was healthy and back on my feet in no time. I think I worked like 20h straight in one session. It kind of reminded how he actually motivated me in the beginnings with some political opinions.
Was also putting a lot of does where is my poker career heading, where and what I want to be and become, my goals for 2015 and also what I see and perceive mid and long term solutions. Still fighting with myself about this topics. Maybe since I'm next week in Malta I might find a clear solution/vision.
November goals
Nothing special aside getting slowly back into the grinding mode. Probably play some NL100 for the begging the first few 10k hands to check how much forgot and in general how many mistakes I make. Then I might steadily add some mid stakes tables. Number 1 priority will probably be quality over quantity this month. After a longer break I have to make sure I still do the things right.
Other then that there is not much left to say. Oh...I almost forgot. Part 2 of final Youtube Video Series although I was sick so not too happy who it came out. Next episode will definitely be better and will be online mid next week before I got to Malta.
Guys, GL at the tables and ttya soon with an update. Cya!
P.S. If someone is actually looking to hire a carpenter in the western/north European countries please PM. I'm actually learned from this guy what hard work means.
So time to rep up the last 3 playing days. They are pretty interesting because they came out unplanned and they have very interesting goals behind it. But I believe it's going to be beneficial for me in the long run. Some hint to not just put out some random mystery words, I basically currently play anyone/any table on NL100 mostly(although 1/3 is NL200) without a HUD. I can just say it's way tougher then I imagined but as I said it there are some goals behind this, at first look, ''ridiculous'' idea. So my goal for this month is to make +5k$ HUDless after RB.Will talk more about at the end of the month.
Anyway next week I'm going to Malta to play a invitational tourney. Although to be fair and honest, I'm a pretty ICM noob. Guess I could prepare myself along the way since the first price should be still worth something.
