Spoiler

$3.35 pot ($0.22 rake)
Final Board: T A 9 6 4
UTG mucked and won $3.13 ($1.48 net)
Hero mucked Q A and lost (-$1.65 net)

villain plays 19/13/4 over 150 hands, so is rather tight

think everything is standard till river, hero decides to bet/fold, assuming villain is thight and doesn't bluff often( hero has some showdown hands that confirm this), and probably to try and get value from AJo

is check/calling a better line to take here or is even check/folding an option because Aj is probably checking behind here and we just split against an Aq(that could also be checking behind) and we loose to an AK

ps: not my hand, but from someone from studygroup

Hey Vandeuren,

Preflop defend is fine.

Flop x/c is good.

Turn x/c is good.

The problem with river reasoning is that while he may call with AJ, he also has AK and ATs in his range. Also TT/99/AA. Unless over 50% of the hands that continue vs our bet our worse hands we don't have a value bet. River x/f should be ok.

Assuming the best river line is to x/f -
it appears our range becomes very transparent and easily read in similar situations with same villain later. What value hands would you also check to villain in this spot, w34z3l? (that fall in your SB defend vs UTG of course.)

Thanks,
MD
