I'm guessing that "Refer a friend" means you get credit whether your friend plays or not.
"Refer 1 new player" would imply that your referee actually plays.

"Refer a friend" means to get a friend to register with us through TaF.
"Refer 1 new player" means to get a friend to register with us through TaF and take the free money.
