By the way. Obviously, beginners at 888 wouldn't be helpful for a reply here. If you want to contradict this, please have the expierence to back it up with 5+ months on the site with a verified account. During the first 5 months on the site, I thought the site was by far better than Pokerstars, Fulltilt, and Partypoker. This opinion came from playing on all of these sites and trying them out, and also 2 years total of online poker.

Do you even read bro? I said perfect BRM. I have been playing for two years now (not a lot but still), and I know how variance looks like. This wasn't variance.

the fact that you managed to win from 3 $ - > 5k means you were on the good side of variance , many players can tell you how hard is to do that . After that im sure you probably said you are good enough and didn`t study anymore , started playing tournaments out of bankroll , on the limits you were not a winner at and hoping that you will win it back to 5k or more and cashout . Probably usual badbeats you were taking also tilted you and you started doing mistakes etc .

That is an interesting post, like you I am not much of a believer in conspiracy, I always look for reason. Am I correct that all of this happened within a period of 6 months? It is extraordinary for your bankroll to go down from 5K in such a short time, but was it not also just as extraordinary for it to rise from $3 to $5K so quickly too? When gambling high peaks and low troughs often go hand in hand. Playing tight odds should result in a graph that has low peaks and low valleys, playing loose or outside odds usually results in high peaks and valleys. Is your 6 month history not consistent with that? If you look at the full graph and not just the losing side is it not one high peak and one low valley? Although this is bad, consider the bright side you started with $3 you raised to $5K you dropped to $100 (which is profit), had you deposited and not capped it there, considering variance is it not possible you could have had a valley of minus $5K?

Of course it would be interesting to know the type of tournament you played as in the ratio of pay-out to the buy-in. Also as you were going up you would have had to gradually increase your risk outlay, so on your way down did you gradually decreases it with each significant loss? You seem to have come down faster than you went up.

There was also sportsbetting involved, that is why I ran it up so quickly. But during the time I was on the loosing streak, I didn't bet a single time, it was a constant curve downwards. But seriously, even if this was a so called "down swing" (I really dont think so. I think this was a way to prevent them from loosing money off from the poker tables since I was about to cashout), if every down swing would be this bad, then I can imagine all players that have played for over a year on the site are nearly broke. And that is just not realistic. Fuck 888, this is not poker.

One of my theories is that they might set about 1% of the players or less for a "curse" like this. This way, they keep their scam under the radar, as other players would be able to back them up and say that it in fact, is NOT rigged, since they themselves haven't experienced it. This is just a guess though. A very possible guess.

It is either the theory I explained above, or else I might have had one of the fortunate downswings a pokerplayer can get, meaning it was long-lasting and bringing very bad luck on a scale of 1-10. This is too very possible, just hard for me to believe since it has yet not happened to me on any other site. Also, 888 seems to have had quite a history with not allowing cashouts etc. when I searched this forum, which supports my theory that they dont like players cashing out from their site. They like to have more money circulating from player to player in their tables, to be able to have more good offers, and more "X dollars guaranteed" tournaments, etc.

I've had that expierence, it's called a downswing.

MTT's is a very high variance game and I don't think you had perfekt brm. First you say you grind it up from 3$ to 5k$, than you say you won a lot on sportsbetting. Maybe you think you're better than you actually are. I can't see how you lose 5k$ so fast with perfect BRM.
Why I think you're less good than you think is because of this " I could predict that the river card would fuck me over", this is not a mindset of a good, solid, winning player.

I don't mean to upset you or anything, but there are a tone of threads where people complain that their account is cursed and it only happens to them, this is not true, everybody has downswings, we all have different ways to deal with downswings, some of us, like me, I like to go over my game big time and find some leaks that will improve not only my game but also my confidence, some give up, some take insane sucide shots at higher stakes, some complain that everything is wrong but not their own game etc.

You keep claiming that you followed a "perfect" bankroll management, but in fact you didn't at all. If you have a decent Brm, you couldn't go from 3$ to 5k that quickly. Again, if you have a good Brm, there is no way you can loose from 5k to 0 in such a short time (verification only takes a couple of days).

Its good advice from Kevsaf, look at your game find the weak spots and try again. If you continue to blame outside influence for your wins and losses you have only two options either give up, or try again repeating the same strategy, neither of those will bring you success.

It is very hard to say what really did happen without more facts my best guess is that you were playing high odds high risk games.

Of the 180 days you played how many did you make a profit, how many did you make a loss?

What was the average odds you were betting; what was your average buy-in compared to the prize pool, what was the average number of players contesting the prize?

MTTs offering a large prize for a relatively small buy-in will be contested fiercely by players taking a shot at the high odds offered, they will play any draw hand to the river for their stacks, their 73 suited often beating your top starting cards like AA AK by hitting a straight or flush or 2nd pair on the river. It is hard to think that you rose from $3 to $5K unless you were playing high risk high odds games?

Forums have many stories condemning poker rooms it is usually the same old story, when things go wrong blame the house or casino, the crooked roulette wheel, the rigged slot machines, shady dealers, loaded dice, fixed races and fights, it is very rare they are true most of the time the villain is just bad luck.

Sorry if this sounds harsh I am just trying to point out the facts and encourage you to try again with a different approach. I have gambled for 40 years in many arenas, overall I have been profitable, at times I have had dreadful down swings driven almost to despair, repeating in my head this is wrong, it can't happen, they are crooked, I am hopeless, never again. But time heals after a few days the mental down swing lessened and I always did go back.

from your posts, it seems you played cashgame and tournaments and bet on sports.

since you only gave sketchy info at best it seems that you went on a real heater that lasted a few months. during that time you were riding variance and thought that it was normal and thus that you were great at whatever game u played. this can often lead to playing higher limits then u can actually beat. having a bankroll for a certain limit doesnt mean you should play it yet.

you claim to have PERFECT BRM and that you are a winning player....that just doesnt add up. you also never mentioned that you went down in limits (which one should do if one follows proper BRM)...this is a problem many players face. they are to proud to move down a limit because they are "winning" players afterall

sorry to be blunt mate,but it probably didnt happen to you on another site just yet because you werent winning big there like you did on 888. LEts be honest, if you were a winning player before starting on 888, you would have deposited a bankroll on 888 in order to play there. starting out with a tourney ticket is a nice fairy tale, yet it is one much more likely from someone who busted on other sites before ( a winning player wouldnt bother grinding from 0 to x as it would mean playing lower limits then on his original sites and thus less profits)
