And one other wrinkle...
If I refresh the page just before clicking "Mark as read" then the icons all go grey first time.

Hey, reporting a bug.
Yesterday I posted several hands on the hand evaluations forum and none of them were added to my favourites; therefore, no automatic e-mails either.
Yes my setting for that is on.

I should mention, the 1st one I posted strangely worked normally, it went in my favourites and I'm receiving e-mails about it.
All the other hands didn't.

Hey nightmare,

At the moment the notification doesnt work when starting a thread, it only gets triggered once you post a reply in a specific thread. We're looking into the issue, so also all threads you start will be added automatically to your notification list.

Thanks,
Rene

When searching through your own recent posts (via the homepage) it used to indicate if there had been any replies since your last visit.
If this new layout also offers this feature then please point me to it. If this feature is lacking then please re-introduce it.

Thanks,

Help is no longer needed here - I've found a workaround that allows to block display of all (not some) members' avatars to me while not blocking other images like smilies :f_drink: It's so easy that I wonder how I didn't have this idea before.

As right-clicking any avatar reveals, Pokerstrategy hosts them in the domains like a1.pokerstrategy-res.cloudinary.com (there can be another number instead of 1 in a1, I've seen a1 to a5 used so far).

The action steps are:

1. Open the hosts file (its folder is different in different versions of Windows, in Win 7 it's C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc); if the antivirus blocks its editing, temporarily allow it.

2. Block these domains by adding lines like

127.0.0.1 a1.pokerstrategy-res.cloudinary.com

to the hosts file (I wrote such lines for a0 to a9, just in case) and saving it.

3. Clear the cache of the browser (incl. stored pictures) and restart it.

Done! Now blank pictures are displayed to me wherever avatars previously were :f_cool:

Update?

Also, is there ANY plans to add some background colour. I'm sick to death of looking at all white. Surely this is bad for your eyes if you all are looking at it all day long?

Seriously, some colour or other colours are needed.

Hey Gary, sorry for no (earlier) reply!
- regarding adding some more space at the end of one's post and the signature - this is not going to be introduced; we would like to keep the forum a bit more on the compact side
- colours - no plans to change them either; we want to focus on improving the functionality of the new forum at the moment :)

Cheers

Hey MasochisticDesire! We are looking into improving it, probably coming in early 2015.

Good news, I know next to nothing about the IT world but am aware that software changes take time. Again, on the whole, my feedback regarding the forum's revamp would be resoundingly positive.
