summary from hand evaluatings

:spade: sirilidion:

:diamond:The biggest mistake that i see in your play is that u overestimate the sample size. Usually u have sample size up to 100h. On this sample i would just check his total vpip/pfr to see what type of player he is. For other more detailed stats u need way bigger sample sizes so focus more on playing solid abc poker versus different type of player and dont focus that much on stats like AF since u will need more than 1k hands for that.

:diamond: I would recomend to u to sit out with 140+bb deep stacks so u dont get into many tough decesions since in deep spots even the preflop game changes a lot so focus on developing your 100bb game as much as u can during the play and keep deep play for higher limits.

:diamond: Your preflop defends versus 3bet might be to lose so just check how you are doing vs 3bet as a caller in your hem/pt but that depends on your opening ranges a lot so it maybe it is fine for your ranges to defend wide if you are more laggish player.

Hi guys,

I would like to inform you that I have offered confidant91 to leave the prize of hand evaluations to somebody else (limit up to NL10) who will benefit from it more than me. I understood that the purpose of these coachings / content of the thread should be focused on beginners.

Although I participated in the coaching (curiosity), I currently play NL25 and modestly consider myself to be a slightly more experienced player rather than a complete beginner. This is a reasoning of my decision.

GL to all and enjoy the coachings to come!

Thx Maarteen, hope to see u again on some future coachings :)

Since marteen is not interested i hae just offer hand evaluations to sirilidion since he was quite ative during the second half of coaching and he is quite active blogger as well, so hope to see some interested hands here. Congratulations :f_thumbsup:

For rest of u, i hope that next time u will be more active, since the only stupid question is the question that is not asked. So even if u are complete beginner feel free to ask what ever comes to your mind since the coachigns are all for u! Have a great week!:f_cool:

Sorry. this is a bit late was makin this post while putting in the 8th hand then my browser crashed and I could start from stratch :(. Also took a while finding the last 2 hands that where interesting enough to post here :).

Hand 1

Stacks:
UTG ($16.30) 163bb
UTG+1 ($12.38) 124bb
sirilidion (CO) ($10.23) 102bb
BTN ($11.41) 114bb
SB ($10) 100bb
BB ($7.57) 76bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is CO A♠ 10:spade:
2 folds, sirilidion raises to $0.25, 2 folds, BB raises to $0.60, sirilidion calls $0.35

Flop: 4♠ Q♠ 3♥ ($1.25, 2 players)
BB checks, sirilidion bets $0.79, BB raises to $1.58, sirilidion raises to $5.93, BB goes all-in $6.97, sirilidion calls $1.04

Turn: 10:diamond: ($15.19, 2 players, 1 all-in)

River: 4♣ ($15.19, 2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $15.19

I have 43 hands on villian and his vpip is 33 and his pfr 25. Also he has an AF of 4.5 and an AF 57 %. Since he is pretty aggressive I though it would be alright to shove here. Do you think so too or is the 3bet shove overplayed?

Hand 2

Stacks:
UTG ($12.02) 120bb
UTG+1 ($10) 100bb
CO ($15.38) 154bb
BTN ($7.37) 74bb
sirilidion (SB) ($10.05) 101bb
BB ($36.66) 367bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is SB 10:heart: A♠
4 folds, sirilidion raises to $0.25, BB raises to $0.75, sirilidion calls $0.50

Flop: 6♣ K♥ 8♣ ($1.50, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, BB bets $0.84, sirilidion folds

Final Pot: $1.50

BB wins $2.27 (net +$0.68)

sirilidion lost $0.75

I have 92 hands on villian and he has a vpip of 22 and a PFR of 12 and a 3bet of 10.3

So it seems villian is pretty loose with 3bet. Although he seems pretty loose I find it hard to find the right line in spots like these :(. How do you play these hands?

Stacks:
sirilidion (UTG) ($14.70) 147bb

CO ($10) 100bb
BTN ($62.47) 625bb
SB ($10.09) 101bb
BB ($13.83) 138bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is UTG K♣ K♦
sirilidion raises to $0.30, UTG+1 raises to $1.05, 4 folds, sirilidion calls $0.75

Flop: 4♦ 4♣ 8♠ ($2.25, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, UTG+1 checks

Turn: J♥ ($2.25, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, UTG+1 bets $1.50, sirilidion calls $1.50

River: 7♣ ($5.25, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, UTG+1 bets $3, sirilidion calls $3

Final Pot: $11.25

I only have 4 hands on villian so he is an unknown, because of that I decided to play my KK for por control here. Is this a good alternative or would you just have 4bet get it in pre?

Hand 4

Stacks:
UTG ($12.83) 128bb
UTG+1 ($10.58) 106bb

sirilidion (BTN) ($15.15) 152bb
SB ($11.63) 116bb
BB ($18.63) 186bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is BTN 5♠ K♠
3 folds, sirilidion raises to $0.20, SB raises to $0.70, 1 fold, sirilidion calls $0.50

Flop: J♣ K♥ 7♦ ($1.50, 2 players)
SB bets $0.80, sirilidion calls $0.80

Turn: 6♥ ($3.10, 2 players)
SB checks, sirilidion checks

River: 3♠ ($3.10, 2 players)
SB checks, sirilidion checks

sirilidion wins $2.96 (net +$1.46)

SB lost $1.50

I have 45 hands on villian and he has a VPIP of 18 and a PFR of 14. After villian checks both turn and river I think I have the best hand most of the time. Do you think a thin value bet is in order to get called by hands like Jx,QQ, 88-TT and if so how big would you make it?

Hand 5

Stacks:

BTN ($10) 100bb
SB ($9.45) 95bb
BB ($9.59) 96bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is UTG+1 7♣ 7♦
1 fold, sirilidion raises to $0.30, CO calls $0.30, 3 folds

Flop: 4♦ 8♣ 4♣ ($0.75, 2 players)
sirilidion bets $0.47, CO calls $0.47

Turn: 10:diamond: ($1.69, 2 players)
sirilidion bets $0.80, CO calls $0.80

River: 3♠ ($3.29, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, CO bets $2.35, sirilidion calls $2.35

I have 44 hands on villian his VPIP is 18, his PFR is 9, an AF of 1.7 and an AF% of 42. So although he looks somewhat tight passive pre postflop he is at least what more aggressive. Considering the are a lot of draws that missed on the river should we call this?

Hand 6

Stacks:
UTG ($19.26) 193bb

SB ($10.02) 100bb
sirilidion (BB) ($24.37) 244bb

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is BB A♠ A♣
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.20, 1 fold, sirilidion raises to $0.80, BTN calls $0.60

Flop: 8♥ 10:heart: 7♦ ($1.65, 2 players)
sirilidion bets $0.79, BTN raises to $2.90, sirilidion calls $2.11

Turn: 2♦ ($7.45, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, BTN bets $5, sirilidion calls $5

River: 8♦ ($17.45, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, BTN goes all-in $11.92, sirilidion calls $11.92

With a VPIP of 33, a PFR of 22, a AF of 3.5 and a AF% of 67% over 46 hands villians seems to be pretty aggressive so well pre as postflop. Considering that I decided to call down after he raised on the flop keeping in mind that his bluffing range is still wide here although there are a few combinations that have me beat.

Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) sirilidion is UTG J♦ J♠
sirilidion raises to $0.30, 2 folds, BTN raises to $0.90, SB calls $0.85, 1 fold, sirilidion calls $0.60

Flop: 10:heart: 6♦ 4♣ ($2.80, 3 players)
SB checks, sirilidion checks, BTN bets $1.50, SB calls $1.50, sirilidion folds

Turn: 5♣ ($5.80, 2 players)
SB checks, BTN bets $3, SB folds

I even got a decent amount of hands of villians this time. But. Has a vpip of 25, a pfr of 18, a 3bet of 6.3 and his 3bet vs utg is 3(39 hands), a cbet of 58, a AF of 2.9 and a AF% of 44 over 306 hands.
SB has a vpip of 20, a pfr of 17. I was a bit worried about the coldcall of sb here as he doesn't have fishy stats. Still I still got decent potodds to call and try to hit my set. After but c-bet and sb calls I thought it was safe to say I was beat here. Do you agree?

SB bets $0.74, sirilidion calls $0.74

River: 8♠ ($2.46, 2 players)
SB bets $1.29, sirilidion calls $1.29

I got 30 hands on villian and so far he has a vpip of 32, a pfr of 25, a AF of 1.0 and a AF% of 43. his sudden turn lead and c/c on the flop is a bit suspicion but I think it can be a Tx or a straight or flushdraw as well. River completes the flushdraw as well a straightdraw with Q9. Do you think this should have been a fold of do we still have enough hands that we beat to make this call?

Flop: A♦ J♥ 5♥ ($1.70, 2 players)

River: 3♦ ($4.20, 2 players)
sirilidion checks, BTN bets $2.80, sirilidion calls $2.80

I have 118 hands on villian who has a vpip of 21 and a pfr of 21. His raise first in from the but is 42. His AF is 7.0 and his AF% is 61. I checked on the flop because my A9 is a medium strenght hand betting would only fold out worse? Is this alright or should I have played it differently. Also not sure about the river call although I pretty underrepped my hand here.

Turn: 5♣ ($3.22, 2 players)

I have 117 hands on villian. He has a vpip of 23, a pfr of 22 a 3bet of 9.1 and vs but a 3bet of 11, a cbet of 70, a AF of 2.2 and a AF% of 52. After he c-bets and c-turn I think it is likely he doesn't have an A. So do you think villian checks turns and then bets enough rivers as a bluff or with a Q?

I have 273 hands on villian. He has a vpip of 28 and a pfr of 23, a 3 bet of 9.3 and a 3bet vs mp of 10, c-bet of 39, an AF of 1,3 and an AF% of 25. Although he is pretty aggressive pre-flop he seems to be passive postflop. Considering that I think I made a mistake not leading the turn. Considering he is pretty tight postflop do you think we should fold to his 3bet shove on the turn?
