Hello,
This is a hand from final 2 tables (9 paid so quite close to money atm). Preflop call is questionable I know, but since this is the bubble I dont mind taking it postflop with bigger stack. reg opening has cbet % of 60 and is not very loose. What would make sense for him to shove this flop? Some draws? strong Ax? Since we need about 40% to call I think we could call some flushdraws here or Ax as well? (or dominated too often?)

What is your strategy with that call? What leak are you trying to exploit?

If it is bubble and he has 17bb + opens wide enough HJ and r/folds it, you should always 3 bet shove here any Ax for starters. As a CL you have no risk aversion vs him here in the bubble with your 100bb+ stack.
Flatting and playing OOP such a hand is not good play long term.
As far as flop shoving range, he has way more Ax hands in his range then random FDs. Also we can assume that he is unlikely going to turn PPs into bluff with shove here - depends on reads and history you both have.
I would assume HJ would open all Axs as well as A10o+. Just A10o+ has total of 22 combos (8 of A10 and AK and 6 of AQ!). When you consider FDs he doesn't have that many in his range so his shoving range is more dominated with stronger Ax. Also even when he does have FD here he is never shoving without equity, in fact he has all the stronger kicker with his Ax here that dominate you really bad (you can at best hope for a chop here).
In order not to get into those trivial spots where you will try to make yourself make a loose call, just fold or if that reg opens + folds to 3 bets 60%+ 3 bet shove any Ax.

GL, hope you won the tourney in the end :)

Not really exploiting any particular leaks, but I dont mind defending here very wide in order to apply some pressure vs him, he is not going to cbet very often and I can bluff on many flops/turns. As I said the call is questionable I know, and I wouldn't defend it too often, rather 3b/f or jam.

I agree to all you are saying here, but I simply don't get the point behind a reg shoving this flop with a strong ace here, why on earth he would want to jam here with AQ/AK/AJ instead of regular cbet.
Maybe he sees me as a huge fish so he is overprotecting against FD's.
I did indeed win it :) thanks

Seeing as there is a 10BB stack, and you are on the bubble I would definitely shove her pre. I don't think he is 3xing his premiums, so he should be folding a lot to a shove. The flop is a really ugly spot. Vs a fish I would snap call, since he would have so many spite shoves in his range. Vs a reg, I agree that this move does not make any sense with a strong Ax. However, he also 3x pre, indicating he has a hand he wants to protect. He continued with his story on the flop, by overbetting 2x pot. I don't think he chose an optimal line to play his hand, but since his story is consistent, I would just give in credit and fold.

if its close to money and we have bigges stack by far i would prefer 3bet jam or even 3bet 16k and fold to AI if you feel he would 4bet jam super tight in that spot. Flat is not the best for sure in this situation. But when we flat and get flop like that i dont see myself folding. If we fold, then we burn money by flatting pre.
