What is the correct line here? Villain had been folding to every steal thus far.

The correct line here is to fold on his 3bet pre-flop.
As played it’s 1 of the better flops you can hit and than is folding difficult with already 395 extra invested pre-flop. I would call here and her-evaluate the turn.

I was considering that I only have to call 395, while the pot is already 1067. Also, my hand would be very well disguised - albeit I doubt the villain would understand that at this level.

That’s true, but you need to hit hard and ICM is also a nasty factor on the bubble.

Well, you called preflop with the knowledge that your hand would be very well disguised if a good flop comes and then an extremely good flop comes with OESD+flush draw+some possibility that villain has AK so 8 and 5 might be good so you are most probably favourite here and if the straight or flush comes you will most probably take his stack or a big part of it if he has AA or KK but then you fold? I think that a call on the flop is the best option, because if you stack off with villain on the flop there is still a possibility that neither the straight or the flush will come, therefore from a chip leader you turn into an almost 100% 4th place finisher. On the turn you can either hit your outs or he can stop with the cbets if he has AK. If he continues with an extremely big 2nd cbet you can fold, if the 2nd cbet is not that big you can call considering the huge pot. At least that's how I would play it. :f_drink:

You played this hand a bit strange. So you say

Villain had been folding to every steal thus far.

and you call 3-bet with 85s. The right think here is to fold because our hand is not good enough vs his range according the info that you have.

As played you say

Also, my hand would be very well disguised - albeit I doubt the villain would understand that at this level.

. You hit a dream board for you hand and you fold. I would make a push here. Why ? Because fold is not profitable decision with the equity we have. With call we invest 1/3 from our stack and when we missed the turn and he made a new bet it will be hard for us to call. So my opinion we should show aggression here. We are forward vs AA , i do not think he has a set. But we have enough fold and showdown equity to invest our whole stack in this situation.

So to summaries the correct line here according to me is :
1) Fold preflop
2) as played Shove on that flop.
