This is a hand I played during a session today and I was wondering if anybody can offer how they would approach the hand if differently.
Original thinking was that that he had called my 3bet in BB with JJ/QQ/TT/AKs.o, AQs.o, AJs.o, because he would probably have 4bet/shoved KK/AA
Flop comes as you see, all low but straight connected, didn't think for one moment he would have called A 3bet pre flop with a low suited connector, suited gap connector type hand so I'm not really afraid of the straight or 2 pair hands. However as I mentioned I thought it possible he had some medium to strong pairs in his 3bet calling range, for this reason I decided to check this flop.
Turn comes and its Jd which does hit his range so again I check because I'm still behind, but he checks as-well which I was surprised at, would he have bet a set/top pair/overpair here, what would I do? I probably would have done.
Now the river, I check again because of the same reasons on the turn but he bets half pot this time. Now im not so sure he has TP/OP/Set because I think he would have bet the turn, 4 in his range?
Thoughts on review were that maybe I could have followed up with my pre flop aggression with a Cbet on the flop and potentially took the pot down there and then. If he calls I give up the hand on the turn.
What do you think, how would you have done things?
Please feel free to criticize my thinking and point me in the optimal direction.
