Hello,

Im Craig, I already have a blog but... I left my pc on with stars loaded up and went to work, when I got back somebody was playing it, sat with half my BR going up and down like a yoyo :f_biggrin:, in the end I think I was $5 down witch wasn't the end of the world, but I feel as though my graph is messed up now so I would like to start a new blog with new graphs.

In my last blog I was trying to put the inchworm concept into action, not that I understood it very well but hey at least I was trying :f_biggrin:. I began with what I thought was the back end of my game and went on to learn MSS and SSS strategy, I quickly learned that it wasn't, although learning the basics has proved useful in some certain spots in the BSS. After searching through Google I came across an article by accident, it was by Jared Tendlar on inchworm, explaining it much clearer, since I now know how to use this concept properly it has had a massive impact on my game, heres my first graph.

Here is my session I've played today

Goal - Grind up to $250 to move up to NL10

Bankroll management - Move up at 25 down at 20
Bankroll - $141.26
Game of choice - 6max deep I start with 100bb

On a final note I will exchange vpps and bonuses when I have enough to move up a stake.

Just played another session of 845 hands, not long after I started I ran KK into AA SB vs BB for 139bb, I didn't play my best but I think I played to a good standard.

BR $143.24

Session 1216 hands
Profit $4.93 + another $10 profit from deposit bonus
Bankroll $158.22

I started tilting after around 100 hands, I think it might be because im tired from work. I guess I need to make sure I get enough sleep instead of playing poker all night :f_biggrin:. I managed to swing it back around just under 800 hands to make a profit. It appears all this work on my overall game (including my mental game) is paying off.

Note: when I was tilting before I was losing like 8 buyins, I feel really good about this session even though I played badly.

So you play stars right?

Did you ever consider trying on some other site with better RB?

Wish you a good luck! Will keep tracking!

Hello Darko,

Yes I play on stars, I like there setup they have many players and so much to offer that other sites just cannot compete with. witch other sites was you thinking of?

I have just played another session and I feel the same as yesterday, im tired from work and Im pretty sure that is leading me to make some poor decisions. im going to stop playing since unlike tilt and emotions there really is no fixing tiredness other then sleep, ill get some sleep now and hopefully play much better tomorrow, ill reduce my tables down to 1-2 too so im not using to much energy thinking.

I have spotted some more leaks though so its not all bad, I have also set myself a warm up, for now it is simply to spend a few minutes reading my list of weakness's and corrections to them before I play.

On a final note, recognising that my tiredness is leading to poor play and quitting is a step forward, although I lost $11 if I continued to play it would of been much worse. I see this as a win :f_drink:.

Goodnight

Well im not really sure which site have the best RB for micro limits but its worth of looking into because games are softer and you can use first deposit bonuses too.

I will have a look into that thanks Darko.

Ok so the last few days I have been a bit tilted, I've been trying to figure out why and I think I may know the answer. I have a list of Don'ts, I call it "My Don't list" :f_biggrin:. I have 18 Don'ts on there and I think im trying to learn them all at once, witch is just to many, since my goal for a session is to not make any of the mistakes on "My Don't list" im setting myself up for a fail straight away with 18 of them.

So what now? Well ill tell you, im going to select just 4 of the most costly ones from my list and set my session goal not to make any of those 4 mistakes on my list. If I don't make any of the 4 I select then ill give myself a pat on the head, and if I don't make any of the other 14, ill pat myself on the back too :f_thumbsup:

Anyhow here is my overall graph since I've played a few thousand more hands.

Hello SirPaulius,
Yes I used to play NL 2, back when I played NL2 I was pretty much a beginner and I cant really remember what the players are like, if im honest I don't think there will be 2 much difference. Why are you struggling?

Session Review

WarmUp Completed
Number of hands played 252
Number of tables 1 cash 2 satellite tournaments
Profit/loss -$4.00
Bankroll $138

Results

How well I played

I was playing my C game.

Tilt control

I controlled tilt rather well up until the last 5-10 minutes, I played a few cheap satellite's into the sunday millions, there was 2 tourny's to through, I got through the first tournament, then I got dealt QQ in sb and ran into AK in BB, witch I think lead me on slight tilt, witch I immediately spotted and decided to take a break for an hour.

Focus level

It wasn't great since I had distractions with the tourn's popping up, witch makes sense why I was playing my Cgame in this session. I thought I could play them in the background and focus on the cash game, this was a mistake im adding to "My List Of Don'ts" :f_biggrin:.

Evaluation

Tough spots

There were a few tough decisions, Although I think played well in most of them here's some hands I played.

I tried to make the guy pot committed by the river with bet sizes with this hand, witch seemed to work :f_drink:

This was at the end when I was slightly tilted by the tourny, I should of folded the flop vs this unkown in a MW pot.

This guy was a nit, he would of raised the flop with a set, or 2 pair, so in his range was nuts or bluff after the 3rd 3 came on the river I had to call him, I think he was tilted towards me to witch is why the nit showed up on the river with a j3s

I think I played this hand pretty well, this guy was a bit of a nit the same player, he started to 3bet light I, by the river I assigned him a range of AT+ 2 over cards, I tried to make this look like a bluff so he would call with A high, even better when he called with K high :f_biggrin:

Variance didn't really affect my results it was bad play.

Session goals

Failed, im reducing my goals to focus on 2-3 mistakes I don't want to make for a session since I keep failing this.

Im also adding, just to play a solid ABC style since, im tilting and making some mistakes, so im going to take a step back to this

Area's im trying to improve

I am removed cbet bluff as an area im trying to improve and just focusing only on my weaknesses and mistakes, until I fix all my known leaks im not going to improve the front end of my game

Analysis

This is part of my warm up, to analyse the last session, im doing a biggest loss biggest win analysis at the moment.

Hello Sirpaulius,

I used to think that variance was affecting my loss's, when I lost, but thought that it was good play when I won, it was a problem with a mental part of my game, im not saying your doing the same but if you are, what you are actually doing is blocking your weak parts of you game by saying you lost due to variance, the problem is if you are doing what I was doing, its harder to make yourself a better player and improve your weakness's because you think, that your not doing anything wrong.

Did I word that correctly so it makes sense?

All im saying is don't fall into this trap like I did, basically its being ignorant to yourself.

I hope this was helpful

Goodluck

You might be right, I have checked all my hands, I found that i made some mistakes. I gave a second shot at NL 5, showed some profit like 4 bb win rate. I am still having a psychological problem at NL5, I am getting too tight in some spots where i have to make a move, because everything looks now much more expensive. Too bad that you're playing a 6 max, it would be fun to make a live sessions from time to time.

I've been reading the mental game of poker and I have been trying to use the inchworm concept, I believe I have been doing it all wrong, I have been setting goals for a session, I that I thought was my back end of my game are in fact just leaks, (obviously I want those out of my game :f_biggrin:) The real back end of my game is for example blind defence, steals and playing vs resteals, or in in my case, squeezing and playing vs the squeeze. as you can clearly see below.

This is also very important, on my old blog when I set it up I was working a lot on my mental game, and at that time I was getting nervous a lot in 3bet pots playing vs 4bets and 4bet pots, now because I have a good idea what im doing in that area, im much more relaxed, and don't get nervous (at least not like I used too).

I sat out and stopped playing to write this before I forgot, I notice that exact similar pattern, in these 2 hands below, witch tells me need to work on my squeezing and playing vs squeeze, I went from crushing the 2 tables to calling station fish, simply because I didn't know what I was doing. I was $35 + after these 2 hands I lost $15 witch made me only $20+, another thing I noticed it sent me on tilt slightly I got looser and called a few bets without thinking, simply recognising this must be a step forward to say the least.
