35th Week challenge (Wednesday) - DAY 243
- 12/164 grind hours
- 5,5/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

This grind hours goals i like more then number of tournaments, i think i can achieve more this way.

Focus in first 2 sessions was OK but not great, in 3rd session i wanted to de even better but variation did some job and i cant be in good focus when i loose few hands in a row with high equity. But at least im not tilting like crazy, only my focus cant go up to make best possible decisions.

I found 3 bad plays, that were not some kind of border hands and i mad a minor mistake, they were mistakes that i spotted right away and didnt have to analyze hand to know i played wrong. That mean that my focus was off and im finding spots where i lose money most when playing B- or C game.

35th Week challenge (Thursday) - DAY 244
- 18/164 grind hours
- 9,5/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

Today i am pleased with studying, did work in HU post flop plan, HH review ICM 4-6 (found that i go too wide, need to keep learning NASH ranges) and had session with Jernej.

Grind was similar as yesterday, big under EV and focus is fading when that happens.

Will work tomorrow at least 30 min on focus again.

35th Week challenge (Friday/Saturday) - DAY 245/246
- 28/164 grind hours
- 12,5/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

Didnt update last night, worked until late night.

Grind went not really well, had "one of those" days where you cant put an end to end and you just cant wait to finish it.

That happens when your mental game is not on high enough level and you can suffer from tilt or lack of motivation when variance hit you + you start to play poorly which is bad ofc. and you end up in down swing.

What i have learned from numerous downswings so far is that each one can be minimized, and a great deal only if you can endure those variance moments and keep playing good or even better? Why not? if some one have good mental game he should be able to use those bad moments and get an even better hold of situation and focus 100% on good decision making. Well, i dont own that kind of mental game yet but i know that it is achievable and that everyone can get to that level.

For studying, im far more satisfied with my studying progress for the last 8 days, had sessions with Jernej, with coach and most importantly i did rearrange my study plan and now i do far more quality studying than for past two months.
Regularly reviewing HH after each session, or at the end of the day, keeping up some kind of diary of my mental game for the day, how i played, how i studied etc.
Its good to leave a trace each day so you can take a look after 10-15-30 days and see what and how exactly did you do and how far you got.

Today i had my day off in week, well almost day off :f_biggrin: Played 2 sessions of 2 hours, read document that i worked on for HU that coach reviewed and corrected. Only missed work on focus, but i really enjoyed my day off :f_biggrin:

35th Week challenge (Sunday) - DAY 247
- 32/164 grind hours
- 16,5/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

Continuing with implementing all the things i have modified and changed.

Did 1 grind session less since i did study instead of grind in the morning.

Focus while i played was ok and when i did HH review i found that i did good in areas that i have worked on recently, didnt repeat mistakes but i found few that i could avoid too if my focus was even greater, so i know where i made mistakes but i make them at the tables when im not 100% in control.

When reviewing HH daily i do HRC calculations to see how much wider or tighter i can go, and thinking about opponents ranges and lines they are taking, very good practice.

36th Week challenge (Monday) - DAY 248
- 38/164 grind hours
- 19/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

Im one session (2h) behind with grind and will make up for it the day i feel most comftorable to do so, or on a day off when i play only one session.

Im getting new headphones, a bigger ones so that i can better isolate my self from outside noises and keep better forcus at the tables, hope that will help.

Had one session in the mornign with Jernej, we are doing really great job and we are both progressing fine.

Also did detailed HH review as usual, took me around 1,5h + posted some hands for review.

36th Week challenge (Tuesday) - DAY 249
- 44/164 grind hours
- 21/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

I am very happy with yesterdays performance at the tables! Had really great focus trough whole day, the last session was a little hard to keep focused but i did it.

Not sure how much of the time i was in the zone but i was plying like B+ game most of the time.

And results are good too, since there was sick suckouts like any other day, i was expecting that after first session i ended up BE at best, but i was actually 6 BI up and that was just great.

And i didnt even tilt almost at all, when im focusing on each hand then i dont have too much time to think about the one played right but lost.

Every session i ended up with positive results, i plan to keep that level of focus and additionally work on it and have even better focus.

36th Week challenge (Wednesday) - DAY 250
- 50/164 grind hours
- 24,5/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

I have studyed today for 3,5h, 2h of working on mental game and focus, listening to series of audio recording for mental game called "Eightfold Path To Poker Enlightenment" by Tommy Angelo, really good stuff it already helped me in many areas to improve and think positively.

Grinding went good, focus was just a little weaker then day before, because i had really bad variance day, i just kept loosing with better hands pre and post flop.
But i was really calm and relaxed, not in a way "i dont give a shit about it" but in a way that i was focusing on right decisions and trying not to make it worse, and still ended up 20BI in loss but was satisfied with my mental game.
Reviewd over 50 hands where i lost whole stack and i found 3 bad plays, i can live with that for now :)

36th Week challenge (Thursday) - DAY 251
- 55,5/164 grind hours
- 27/75 hours of studying
- 1/4 sessions with coach

Grinded little less then 6 hours, had another bad day at the tables.

Shit just kept hitting me and i was just trying to keep my cool, keep good focus and not tilt. I didnt manage to stay immune to all of that since this is 2nd day in a row, but im currently working on my mental game and tilting less so im managing with this downswing far better then before thats for sure.

Worked on HU document for 30 min, worked on mental game for 1 hour and worked on HH review and hands analizing for around 1,5 hour.

Today i will use a day off and play 2 or 4 hours and work on my game, going to regain focus like i had on Tuesday.

36th Week challenge (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) - DAY 252/253/254
- 66,5/164 grind hours
- 31/75 hours of studying
- 2/4 sessions with coach

Here is missing update for past three days!

On Friday i had a day off, on day off i do one grind and one study session but on Friday i decided to take day of completely!

It didnt start too well for me when i dropped to 1,50$, first day i had nice results and focus and two followings day i had a big downswing in results and in mental game, was a good opportunity to fight that thing. Im still working on my focus and mind set is one of the key things to success in poker.

And i decided to take a Friday off, Saturday i did like usual just with little slower tempo, and from yesterday on im continuing with usual work.

I really needed some kind of break and rest not because im tired or anything but i needed break from playing, constantly thinking about poker, studying etc. I mean, i know its my job to do so but i found my self under a lot of pressure and i needed to take a foot off the gas for a day or two.

Anyway, my mindset is back on track now, better then it used to be, i feel good, had a session with coach yesterday and we worked on HU game, my weak part mostly is post flop decision making, making most profitable lines and so on.

Im confident that i can beat this limit with good ROI on 1500+ tournament + i can increase ROI greatly when i fix HU.

Tomorrow my brother is coming to visit me and will stay for few days, i dont have a luxury to take more then 1 day off so ill just get up early and start working to finish as soon as possible so i can go and spent some more time with him while he is here.

Hey all!

I know i just disappeared from the face of the Poker Strategy with out a word, i want to apologize all of you who followed me trough the time i was updating regularly.

I did stop playing for the time, and still on pause.

The thing is that i started to work something on my own, non related to poker in order to make some money since i was getting low with my savings.

I didnt have that much time for playing and studying and then i decided to stop and take a break from poker and stress that was building in time, since i was a BE player after all that time.

I found a good full time job and secured my money related condition (i dont live with my parents but renting a place, so i have expenses that i have to cover no matter what).

My gf got a full time job too, and im feeling really less stressed and less under the pressure.

Even my free time im not spending in studying or playing, i just do things that i havent got a time to do while i was full time poker player, it was very time consuming and energy consuming too.

And to answer host85s question, no i did not give up playing, i took a break that i felt more then needed and after all, i had to do it.

My passion to poker as a sport did not turn down one bit, poker is not something that kept my attention for a brief of time, i still love playing it and i really miss it, competing with other players that work hard on their game like i did, and beating them from time to time :f_biggrin:

Now that i have regular income non related to poker, and feel less stressed in general, i plan to use my previous experience and go for it one more time, and as much times as needed to make it as poker pro, one of the best poker pros :f_cool:

Since i was away completely for last three months, at first, in January i plan to start following news from world of poker, read some interesting blogs, see what did i miss and plan my new attempt in succeeding in poker.

So you can expect this blog to engage once again, i wont say when but you will see me again
