Cause you turn a hand with equity into a bluff and you are ready to give up on that equity...

I knew, you would answer that. And that is an old discussion, what isn´t true anymore. Villain has 2 ranges in that spot. A calling and a 3bet range. You target his
callingrange. But when he 3bets, his range is narrowed down to valuehands, which are stronger than yours. End then you have to fold, becasause you are behind.

It´s the same when you 3bet AK from the bilnds vs early positions. People often tend to call, but when they 4 bet you have to fold.

You are funny, you know... :)
Turning this hand into a bluff is not the brightest thing you can do. And folding a hand with equity too.

I am not turning my hand into a bluff, i value 3bet vs his callingrange, and fold vs his stronger hands, then my hand isnt a bluff anymore. IT is a weaker hand i have to fold.

And what if he 4bets you, you fold, but he did this as a bluff?
Funny you... :)

What if you 3bet and he calls with his entire range?

He cannot understand that has a not nut fd 9 outs and cannot raise for value on flop.

Thats even better, when he calls with his entire range, than i dont have to fold my flushdraw :f_thumbsup:

And we dont raise against his nutfhlushdaws, we raise against his entire range. And as you can see in the hand, whe were ahead of his hand. But i think at this point it is ok. Call your draws, raise your strong hands. :f_thumbsup:

You should raise your draws but the weaker ones apart from the nut ones.

Right, raise-fold with this particular hand is wasting equity.

Hey guys
I like to 3bet recreational players like this, but not regualrs. I'd make it 30 cents, simply to play a pot with him in position and isolate him for myself if I have a read that he is a weaker player that will call a lot preflop and is bad postflop.
The minraise also should on average weaken his preflop range so you can 3bet purely for value. I'd call a min4bet and fold to a large 4bet.
I've seen nosebleed players like Katya do this with hands like ATs, KQs otb vs weaker players, and often you can go a lot wider even to hands like KJo de-polarized 3bet range if the guy is really weak postflop+ opens wide.

Against a regular I prefer a call preflop though. It's close vs unknown at NL5, you should 3bet him wide de-polarized every time he minraises from now on though.

Flop's actually close, I prefer a call in position + playing the turn but just jamming it in vs his bet to maximise fold equity is an okay option.

Wow, a lot of fight about a spot which is actually not that important overall, I mean when you have so much equity in a 3bp you can hardly ever miss play your hand, except if you fold on the flop :)
imo on the flop both options are fine. of course if we choose to raise then obviously not folding if villain jams ( sure we are not that happy ). From my experience pot donks from weaker players are not that strong as you guys described, actually it's weak. I saw countless time pot donks with complete air hands. ( I play only zoom games, so this read are only valid for those pools. z10-z100, if you play on other site the situation could be completely different). The only drawback of calling is that once a weaker players starts to potdonk they tend keep potdonking very frequently and if teh turn is blank we kinda have to fold ( or maybe jam over it ? :) ), which is unfortunate because we still have a significant amount of equity.
