KK with tough River decision

BTN: $23.50
SB: $11.78 (VPIP: 29, PFR: 12, 3Bet Preflop: 10, Hands: 17)
BB: $8.70
Hero (UTG): $10.02 (VPIP: 12, PFR: 12)
MP: $9.10
CO: $28.21

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has K♠ K♥

Hero raises to $0.30, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.30, SB raises to $1.20, fold, Hero calls $0.90, fold

I probably should 4bet here, but my thinking at the time was to include KK in my 3bet calling range to try to discourage future 3betters. If the BTN had also called the 3bet, my plan was to shove any non-ace flop if SB cbets the flop.

Flop: ($2.80, 2 players) 6♥ J♠ 5♣
SB bets $2.20, Hero calls $2.20

I decided to slowplay on the flop since the board is dry. I wouldn't think the SB would be 3betting with any hand that has a draw here. I'm putting him on a standard 3bet range of QQ-AA, AKo, AKs, and possibly AQs, so I didn't want to fold out lesser hands with a raise here.

Turn: ($7.20, 2 players) J♥
SB checks, Hero checks

Interesting Turn card and villain checks it. It would make sense for villain to check this card with his entire 3bet range if he's concerned that I might have a Jack. I thought about betting the Turn, but I was taking too much time deciding if betting or checking would make me more money. I probably should have bet. I'd get called by AKh and QQ, and if I get raised well then it's pretty obvious that I'm beat. Anybody agree/disagree?

River: ($7.20, 2 players) Q♣

SB bets $5.80 Hero ?

Here's where I was confused. What is villain betting here after checking the Turn? If he has a Jack, I could see him playing it this way. Same if he has QQ and thinks I might have a Jack. I just don't think he's bluffing here, but this looks so suspicious. I can't ever see AK or AQ playing this way. AA? If I had AA, I'd value bet smaller. If I increase his range to AA-JJ, AK-AJ, I've got 52.56% equity, and I need 31% to call, but I struggled with this particular decision. Perhaps if I 4bet preflop and/or bet the Turn, I might have been able to get some more information on his hand. But as played, I ended up folding...thinking it makes more sense for villain to have a Jack or QQ or maybe even AA here. Thoughts?

Our Pair is very strong, butwith calling you invite the button too. Our hand plays better vs 1 villain. You will feel uncomfortable on an Axx board vs 2.

Preflop you should 4bet. If BTN calls after you, you got into a bad spot. If SB c-bets and you shove, you will mostly get called by sets. So bad idea in my opinion.

Flop: play is fine.

Turn: i would have bet the Turn, he could have AQhh, what he decided to call. BTW you block AKhh.

On the RIver i would call the bet. He can have AQhh, Never AJ i think. You also never have a J on the Turn when you check back. So you can have a pocketpair, what you decide to check back. IF he has some bluffs, it is a crying fold.

Board: 6♥J♠5♣ J♥ Q♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    71.43%  71.43%   0.00% { AA, QQ-JJ, AKs, AhQh, AsQs, AcQc }
MP3    28.57%  28.57%   0.00% { KhKs }

If he bets all his AK, its a call

Board: 6♥J♠5♣ J♥ Q♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    50.00%  50.00%   0.00% { AA, QQ-JJ, AKs, AhQh, AsQs, AcQc, AKo }
MP3    50.00%  50.00%   0.00% { KhKs }

I would fold the hand!

I'm all for balancing a 3bet calling range, but with a player to act behind this is a terrible spot to do it.

Future 3betters have no idea that you called KK here (and actually even if someone knows you call KK to 3bet, that is not a reason to decrease his 3betting frequency). If you want to have strong hands in your calling range for other reasons, call AA instead of KK because it is not as vulnerable - with KK you get ugly A-high flop close to 20% of the time.

As played flop call is fine, turn you can bet smallish if you think he doesn't have Jx but without info check back is good. River is well played, I don't think he is suddenly going to start bluffing his AK, sizings on flop and river don't look like AQ and all the rest has you beat.

I really don't mind calling pre-flop, even with one acting behind you... but I'm also very willing to let go of my hand when the flop looks bad. I don't think avoiding A highs flop is a decent reason for not calling. We just need to know that our overpair in a 3way pot is not as strong as it is in a 2 way pot, even if it was squezeed pre. But of course, 4betting is the standard play.

Call on the flop is fine IMO.

On turn, I'd actually consider a check behind as well, you know? He will have AJ from time to time, but he folds AQ here, and calls QQ and AA. We're dead against AA and AJ obviously. He MIGHT call TT, which would be a reason to bet, but I think he folds it more often than not.

By checking back we give a chance to hit a Q with AQ, or do something stupid with air. As played, we can never fold on the river IMO. Our hand is completely underplayed, so he could definitely be shoving air that he squeezed, or AQ. And well, QQ have us now... And like I said, he will have AJ sometimes. Still, I think it's a call, although it's close. Folding is not bad IMO.. calling might be slightly more +EV, but folding equals less variance.

I also would not close the action with KK OOP.
