Hi, thazar!
The problem with any big hand, is that it only pays off if villain has something decent too.
Because the bolded statement is true, monochrome boards are decent spots to donk as a bluff or semi-bluff OOP.
Lots of folds to be had.

Best of luck,

by 9:30AM this morning I had done my 10 miles run and by 11 completed my 3 missions on stars for the CG quests.

It seems to be roughly doubling my rakeback. It seems that the rakeback is anyway already better with the new system for the amount I play. and that's without the CGQ.

I went twice to the pub this week and had hot chocolate the first time and J2O the second times and went to a dinner last night and was on iced tea. It's all part of the marathon training :)

at the moment my biggest issues in CG and possibly in tournaments as well is been able to let go of marginal hands postflop. Mostly over pairs, sometimes some high pairs top kickers.

this is a prime example:

Stacks:
UTG Hero ($15.96) 160bb
UTG+1 PaTrick00 ($20.44) 204bb
CO magsasebo ($11.13) 111bb
BTN eikennbogger ($6.19) 62bb
SB sonny267 ($10.87) 109bb
BB LewBennett ($9.78) 98bb
Pre-Flop: (0.15, 6 players) Hero is UTG K♥: K♦:

Hero raises to $0.35, PaTrick00 calls $0.35, 3 folds, LewBennett calls $0.25

Flop: 6♠: 6♥: Q♥: ($1.10, 3 players)
LewBennett checks, Hero bets $0.72, PaTrick00 folds, LewBennett calls $0.72
Turn: 8♣: ($2.54, 2)
LewBennett checks, Hero bets $1.35, LewBennett raises to $3.24, Hero calls $1.89
River: 6♣: ($9.02, 2)
LewBennett goes all-in $5.47, Hero calls $5.47
Final Pot: $19.96
LewBennett shows four of a kind, Sixes
Q♦: 6♦:
Hero shows a full house, Sixes full of Kings
K♥: K♦:
LewBennett wins $19.06 (net +$9.28)
Hero lost $9.78
PaTrick00 lost $0.35

I mean how often how often does he play AQ / KQ like this as well?
he is clearly a fish but I dont have any info at the time. On the turn I thought he clearly has a 6 or possibly 88 but talk myself while tanking that he could have KQ, AQ and hence my call. When he donks the river with the 3rd 6 coming his range hasnt changed and so as long as I call the turn I guess I have to call the river. And folding the turn might be opening myself to be exploited. It just seem to happen a lot and I seem to be losing a lot of those spots.

The hand you posted, I would play it the same way. This is a board where i am totally not scared because many times the fish will play slow to the river. But maybe i am wrong?

that hand was probably ok, but there are plenty others where I have difficulty folding an over pair

on the other hand tonight I had a $10 bonus form the cash game quest missions that's almost $40 for the month.

so far I have paid $118 this month rake and between starcoins and cash game quest bonuses I got about $70 rakeback (about 60% rakeback - not too shabby for silver)

I started the day with a 12 miles run (just under 20k) and I am still slow and my knee is still hurting a bit but the speed is improving . last week I did 10 miles at a speed of 9:31 per mile this week 12 miles at 8:44 per mile. the goal is really to get to 8 minute mile or better so still a lot of work but it is only week 3 of training.

Still no smoking , although I had a few pints yesterday with my running partner, so it's ok :) .
Up to date with the missions as well and a total $46.5 of additional bonus so far this month and still hoping for a big one for the last week :).

hahaha beautiful. And as discussed before, I like your raise OTF with a wide range :f_drink: Good to see that these techniques can pay off.

I played 20k hands over the weekend and reached gold level only to realise that the steps next month will 500 vpps instead of 100 at silver. The missions next month consist in completing steps so it will be 5 times harder.

I think I really played well today. made some massive folds and all the ones I saw a showdown were correct. I did some good pot control as well with some big hands.

I ran 14 miles yesterday morning and messed up my knee again. We will see how it goes tomorrow as I have 5 miles to run.

this week summary:

34007 hands
0 MTTs
Profit/Loss: $194.85
Current BR: $1,235.20
Week 7

I completed all the missions this month for the cash game requests this month and got a total of $56 from it.

On the health front, still no smoking and I have passed the 28 days milestone. Training for the marathon is going hard and since I hurt myself this weekend we will see how next week goes

I ran on a treadmill this morning in the gym. The goal was to push up the speed as much as possible while running 7 miles (11.3km). I manage to get a top speed of 14kmh (6:53 minutes per mile) and completed in 54:55 which is an average of 7:50 per mile which is my best time so far. I would not have been able to maintain it for another 6 miles though (for the half marathon in 5 weeks) so there is still a lot of work to do.

The Poker related goal for January did finish so I will continue with the steps goal till the 14th of Feb and then the daily goals that they have announced, depending of course of what is demanded .I doubt I will play any other variant than what I am used to or play an amount of hand or a limit that would be excessive (nothing above NL25 for example - no FL , no mixed game or stud, draw etc ... and tournaments etc I will have to see how time allows.

Haha I wish

actually no I have been very busy with work, upped the marathon training, got taken down by the flu for a week and had very little time left for poker.

I still managed to find time to lose a few dollars here and there. I will play a few tournaments today
