$0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

SB: $10 (100 bb)
BB: $7.99 (79.9 bb)
MP: $3.66 (36.6 bb)
CO: $11.24 (112.4 bb)
Hero (BTN): $10 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 7
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, SB folds, BB calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.65) 3 5 T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.35, BB calls $0.35

Turn: ($1.35) T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($1.35) 3 (2 players)
BB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

Villain is 50/15 fish with 3,8 AF.

Is it ok to call this river with A high against this villain.

Reasons for calling:
He is mabye a bit too agressive so he is capable of doing some silly bluffs.
Tx and 3x are unlikely because there is not too many combos of them left.
We are getting ok price to call and should have showdown value.

I think you could check behind this flop. In this board I think calling villains bet OTR is not a big mistake if you believe he could stab you with J high because you checked turn.

Agree. As a general rule: If your opponents don't fold, don't try to bluff them and play mostly for value. As played, if your opponent is someone who doesn't like to fold and has much more than just Tx he is calling than your play was good

On a dry flop like this villains will usually fold to cbet so I decided to cbet. If I x back this flop vs aggressive villain he will usually bet turn and river and I have to fold my A high. I could though check back otf like you said and I think that both options(check or bet) are fine.

Results:

Spoiler

$2.35 pot
Final Board: 3 5 T T 3
BB showed K 8 and lost (-$1.15 net)
Hero mucked A 7 and won $2.16 ($1.01 net)

I posted this hand to make sure that I'm not results orientated to make sure that I was not just "lucky" when he showed K8s and not 5x/Tx/3x.

On this board you will get calls from smaller pairs and from all broadways as they are higher cards to the board. No FE, no value in this cbet.

On river you should call only if you have info that he tries to steal pots on river.

Its just most of these players fold if they dont hit a pair on this flop. Not too many fish float here with overcards, most of them have fold to CB like 70 so I can cbet almost 100%

But I think that you are right and I should check with A high here.
