Do you think I played my hand ok? I dont have a tracking tool like Hm2 right now, just the free version of Jivaro. My idea was to play my strong hand in position and give him the opportunity to bluffbet / value bet his weaker hands. The range for his 3bet is hard for me to judge... I think maybe something like JJ+ and AQo+?
Under these assumptions my play was propably wrong and I should have atleast checked behind the river, but I'd like to hear what you guys think. :).

His Hand:

Spoiler

He had QQ

PRE:
I think OOP he could 3-Bet with: TT+,AQs+,KQs,AQo+

FLOP:
He could play every hand of his range like this to gain value by making you betting. I mean there are two options -> 1st he has the nuts like AX or 2nd he wants to make some money with TT, JJ vs weaker hands and make them bet him. Im just not sure how KQ would play the Flop, but well he checked and I will not adapt the range of villian.

Board: 4♦A♥A♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     57.36%  55.79%   1.57% { KhKc }
BB     42.64%  41.07%   1.57% { TT+, AQs+, KQs, AQo+ }

Anyway I think you can bet the flop cause you are ahead and except KQs every hand will call you.

AND -> if KQs will fold you are still ahead:

Board: 4♦A♥A♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     55.08%  53.43%   1.65% { KhKc }
BB     44.92%  43.27%   1.65% { TT+, AQs+, AQo+ }

TURN:
Now he bets. But with the Q every singe hand of him would bet the Turn to gain some value or/and foldequity. TT maybe not. So lets see how you would run vs his range:

Board: 4♦A♥A♠ Q♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     47.08%  45.29%   1.79% { KhKc }
BB     52.92%  51.14%   1.79% { TT+, AQs+, KQs, AQo+ }

Board: 4♦A♥A♠ Q♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     30.95%  28.57%   2.38% { KhKc }
BB     69.05%  66.67%   2.38% { JJ+, AQs+, AQo+ }

So he bets around 50%. So you have to win every secound time. But you will just win like 47% or without the TT @ 31 %.
If you give him not another range I think you should not call this one. @ The river there is no really chance to improve your hand and if you call/bet (like played) I think you will loose some money in this spots.

Maybe I would raise the Turn to make many hands fold. But I am not sure if this would be that great.

Best regards ;)

Hey LoBrue! Thanks for your insight :). Especially nice covered by the equities, thanks. Yes, I think his range of 3 bet ,especially on NL2, is not very big and i am beaten vs most of his hands. Maybe a bet on the flop and if i get heavy counter action a fold. But the way I played it definetly the check behind on the river next time

Preflop you have to 4bet with your KK.
If you know that you are beat on this board why do you bet the river?

+1

You shouldn't be afraid to go broke with KK, plus unless he 5bets you (then we have to go all in pre) it gives you the leading action on the flop.

Hm.. my idea preflop was to play in Position for a potentially bigger pot, because wouldnt he just fold most of his 3bet range? or is it too risky because of certain board strucutres to just call? And yes , i only realized when i reviewed this hand after the session that most of his range would have beat me.

Preflop you have the second best hand. If you do not 4b it what do you 4b here?

hm i would have 4betted if i was out of position i think. i didnt want to "scare away" weaker hands like JJ etc... or would they have gone broke preflop too?

No needto worryabout that. BB will deffend vs CO a value range of JJ+, AK vs which you do great - 62%!!!...
In these positions villains do not get scared that easy... :)

And remember, we have a strong hand and we want VALUE!

I've seen people go broke pf in NL2 with K9o quite often.

The bluff range may vary but in most cases the value range will something like the above said.
