No, I did not get confused. The smaller you bet, the less times your bluff should work. So you can bluff wider...

No no no.

Bet on the river to make villain indifferent towards calling or folding with bluff catchers ;

For pot sized bet: 2 : 1 value/bluff ratio means 1/2 = 0.50 bluffs per value hand.
For 2 x pot sized bet: 3 : 2 value/bluff ratio means 2/3 = 0.67 bluffs per value hand.

So by betting bigger we have more bluffs.

By betting bigger your bluff should work much more times. So you should not bluff wider.
Example:
Pot is $5.00.
If you bet $2.50 - 33%
If you bet $1.50 - 23%

As your bluff should work less times when you bet smaller, you can bluff wider.

In my opinion nitrol is right here.

Theoretically the smaller our raise is, the less times it has to work for it to be profitable. Meaning that if we raise small we can have more bluffs in our range. Of course raising bigger has bigger fold equity but it has to work a lot more too. So if we are bluff happy, we should normally raise smaller. If we bluff a lot and bluff big, villain will probably call so often it might become unprofitable.

Ok see this;

Pot is $5.
You bet $2,5 - 33% = 3:1 value bluff ratio = 1/3 = 0,33 bluffs per value hand
You bet $1,5-23% =~4:1 value bluff ratio = 1/4= 0,25 bluffs per value hand.

You can clearly see that you have less bluffs per value hands when you bet smaller to make villain indifferent towards calling or folding with bluff catchers. If you have more bluffs villain is making profit by calling even more.

Meaning that when we bet smaller, we have less bluffs and when we bet bigger we have more bluffs.

That is simply the % how often your villain has to fold to make your bet autoprofit. So if he has to fold only 33% of the time, of course you can bluff more often and it is ok. I don't know why you think it means the ratio between bluff and value hands. Theoretically if you want to bluff a lot you have to do it small so it won't have to work so often.

My percentage shows how often your bluff should work. The smaller the bet, the lesser it needs to work. So you can bluff wider.

The ratio between value and bluff is personal choice.

If we have more bluffs villain is making money by calling with his bluff catchers.

:pcuser:

Villain will still fold a lot to raises OTR. If we have more bluffs and raise smaller villain can sometimes bluff catch and it will still be profitable. But if we have a lot of bluffs and raise bit it comes terrible if villain bluff catches

I feel like we need our GTO master Yohan to comment on this one :f_rolleyes:

The smaller the bluff, the FEWER the bluffs if you aspire to play GTO. This is provably so if all in. It is very very very likely to be true more generally, i.e. when not all in and on eary streets. People not playing this way are exploitable.

YW!

I am of course referring to percentages. Small bet = small percentage of hands you do this with should be bluffs. These percentages are exactly calculable in the simplest case (all in), and are quite reliable for ordinary river betting.

Doing it conversely (i.e. big bet = small percentage bluffs and small bet = big percentage bluffs) is perfect for exploiting dofuses tending to read small bets as value and big bets as bluffs. Both bluffs and value hands are then extremely profitable. It renders you exploitable, but not necessarily exploited. Just watch out in case your victim picks up on this tendency of yours (against him).
