1. limping is not good. Just raise.
2. You do not call the flop but push.
3. You play those PPs with the hope to hit set+ and when you hit it, t is absolutely normal to play for stacks.

As Nitrol said, We never limp.
You open there with 3bb, and we would usually call all 3bets in position with pp 99.
I dont think that the bb was going to 4 bet when you CO open 3bb, sb 3bet to 9bb, JJ would usually call here only, if not the bb is just another fish.
but now, as played, you played 99 to setmine, the flop came 9Tx 9Ax 9KK, 987, we played to hit a set, and we are going broke when we hit our set :), no matter if we are going to run into quads or strightflushes, we paid 9bb to hit our set, we are all in :)

When it comes to learning poker, We dont learn much when we post bad beats hands. Bad beats happens, but we dont learn much from them, it is not like i am going to say, next time you see a flop 9hTh2s, you should insta fold when you see that there are many overpairs + Axs + JQ,J8,78 hands that would play for stacks here anyways...
We dont learn much here. Maybe if you give more information about the players you played against.
Sometimes you will be running vs 9Ts, and the turn gives him a higher full house... :) you see thats just a bad beat hand.. nothing much to discuss. The money are going in... have a good br, next hand

I guess there is just one note - sometime we can fold bottom set in multipot when we donk and got raised at micro, especially at pretty connected boards.
Regarding this case - there is no fold on the flop - hero had middle set in multi in 3bet pot. Your opponent could 3B with TT+,AJs+,AQo from BB. I totally agree - limp 99 from CO is bad play. Just open your normal size and even if you got 3b from blinds you sometime could calll IP with 99 vs 3b.

Get your facts straight this was never a bad beat he was never once ahead in the hand not preflop vs TT and JJ and also not on the flop when the money went in.

Maybe not a bad beat, but bad luck (negative impact of the variance) for sure. :) As played, I would instantly mark Hero as a fish when he open limped.

Just wanted to point out that open limping is a bad strategy in 6-max games. When I see someone open limping or not having a full stack, I always mark him as a fish.

Pre-flop: Limping is a bad play, although there are definitely profitable limping spots in NL2. But raise 2.5-3BB from the CO.
Post-flop: I agree with the other comments.

That's right! It's not like I invented this. I saw alot of videos here where people do that. Probably 95% of villains without full stacks are fish at these stakes. The rest are playing short stack or mid stack strategy. So, you can't make mistake with marking everyone not fullstacked as a fish. I also make a note on them "bks", which means broken stack, so I know why I marked them as fish. If they prove me wrong, I can always unmark them, ofcourse.

Right. You have to go on the info you have. In rare cases, you'll be dead wrong and against a professional short-stacker. You can't know. That's life. But it is either - or. It is not a reg trying to impersonate a fish.

tnx all for the answers.
It helped me a lot.
It was indeed a bad move. If I would haved raised. And there was a double reraise i would have fold and not lost a lot.

But a Fish for not full stacked? I had 2$ so i was full stacked.

That wasn't refered to you. :) I marked you a fish because you open limped. Just make sure you don't open limp anymore and I will unmark you. :f_thumbsup:

If you have raised, you may have lost a lot too. It is not the matter how much you have lost as it is a rare case to get quads vs quads.
The matter is to play right.

I would not lay down bottom set at the micro cash game table. I indeed also mark people as a fish when not full stack because your strategy should be solid; BSS or SSS.
