When 50/4 guy xr and with that huge size.... you can even think of folding...

I cannot think of a decent hand the SB could call CO raise +ev. The board is dry and Hero is holding a strong made hand. When I do not see anything I think sets, maybe he is calling down and x/r turn with a set. Hero should stack off and file as bad beat.

Xc flop, xr turn- possible set, straight... we cannot stack off...

What range does villain complete the straight with? He is calling from the SB preflop.

Preflop: Raise is too big from that position (and with that hand).

Flop: Bet is too small on that drawy board.

Turn: His raise (5x+) says you are beat. Fold.

T9s/all sets + bluffs is what I put in his range. Top 2 not enough to catch. Split is all you can hope for.

Add to that that he plays 50/4. He is practically stumbling over himself to get it in.

Yeah, when I watch it now, I´m like wtf was I thinking. He overbets and I re-raise him with no doubt. The truth is, when this hand happend I wasn´t paying attention to it much, I had another 2 hands where I was holdin even stronger combinations. On the top of that my cellphone just started ringing, so I panicked ♦. The problem there was I was just focusing on my 2 pairs and didn´t think anything could beat me...like the fishest fish ever.

What do you mean by "Preflop: Raise is too big from that position (and with that hand)"? I´d been actually thinking about my preflop bets. I open everytime with 4x BB+1BB per caller. I know some ppl say to open with 3BB, but I really don´t know where is true and from which position which sizing. I´ve just read this:"A standard raise size from most positions is 4x the big blind. Only when in late position (CO and BTN) should you raise 3x the big blind." Do you agree with that?

I open 2.5 bb from the CO by default. People used to raise much more years ago. Nobody knows what the right size to raise is. If you play loose and play well postflop, then going on the smaller side is probably best. It is a matter of implied odds.

It depends on how you construct your ranges. If you are a tight player it is correct to open 4x from the EP and MP and 3x from the stealing positions and the SB. I am loose and dislike full ring tables so I open 2.5, 2.

From late positions as we open wider ranges it is ok to open for smaller size.

Do just that if you feel like it, but then you need to mix it up. In Zoom (with a big pool) you can get away with it without mixing up. Easiest is to not do it.

It is not used much today "officially" because it takes to much effort to carry through and write about. But in maximally exploitative poker, people do adjust sizing to EVERYTHING, opponent and opponent's stack included. Needless to say, you can construct better ranges than the prevalent ones that does take into account the type of hand, opponent and stacks. With J♥:J♠: you probably want a larger preflop bet than with 5♣:4♣:, right? Holding 4♦:4♠: on the button (first in) with a 75 bb stack in the big blind might call for a 3x raise (why?() instead of 2x, etc.

We should definitelly bet the flop and turn bigger. When facing the turn check/raise, I think folding is the best, especially vs that sizing.

Yes, would fold here too. However, now you have raised for value, we cannot lay down our hand anymore...
