UTG: $50.90 (203.6 bb)
MP: $43.65 (174.6 bb)
CO: $30.66 (122.6 bb)
BTN: $25.10 (100.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A♠: A♦:
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.50, BB folds, BTN calls $1.75

Flop: ($5.25) 8♥: K♣: J♦: (2 players)
Hero bets $3, BTN raises to $6, Hero calls $3

Turn: ($17.25) 3♠: (2 players)

In this particle spot it’s also good if you have reads on him, but I expect most players will only min raise with strong hands and I would go for the fold on turn against a unknown with passive stats.

Cheers,

I would Shove you have the overpair
He still is the button with a wide range. Could have KQ/JQ...
His stats wil be passive ....

Would like to see how this one ends..

The c-bet is too big, half pot is enough.

Just just turn. I guess it standard play vs this guy - he is massive caller 29/12. To me - he is fishy enough to shove here.
What is the possible his calling preflop range and raising flop? I guess at least JJ+,88,ATs+,KJs+,QJs,T9s,AQo+,KJo+
I think he could easily raise your CB with gutshot, oesd on 9Ts.

I dont think there are minraises with ATs, QJs, T9s and AQo.
But i think we are often against KQ, AK,

Here's how it ended:

Turn: ($17.25) 3♠: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $9.75, Hero raises to $32.72 and is all-in, BTN calls $6.85 and is all-in

River: ($50.45) 4♣: (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$50.45 pot ($2.00 rake)
Final Board: 8♥: K♣: J♦: 3♠: 4♣:
Hero showed A♠: A♦: and won $0.00 (-$25.10 net)
BTN showed J♠: K♠: and won $48.45 ($23.35 net)

He could be a recreational player in my eyes, so I tought TP is very possible (AK, KQ). I don't think players will minraise semi-bluffs OTF, but could happen from time to time.

As Yohan often says: " Fish do not hate money that much". We can find a fold here.

Pot odds OTR will be like 13% (we will be commited anyway). I don't think we could ever fold AA overpair. That's why I asked should I fold or shove the turn.

On the flop, you should probably call without reads. (We can have up to 5 outs if he holds two pair, but this is not the main reason.) On the turn, I'd count his bet as all in, so add his remaining $7 making his bet about $17. Effectively, we get 2:1. I can fold to that.

A detail: It's not good to bluff turn with only a tiny bet left for the river (as a pure threat). If he realizes that, he is not likely to bluff turn.

Why do we call flop if we are to fold on this turn? Or we hope he will stop firing?

The latter. Not having "call once" and "call twice" ranges is very easy to play against, especially against someone tending to see monsters in min-raises.

It hurts every time we have to fold later on, but it must be done in this game. Not all bluffs are 3-barrels (for a related reason). Not all "value raises" on part of villain beats us.

Sorry to go on nagging, but I'd like to add some math. It is blatantly true that villain isn't going to check much on turn if we call. But it doesn't have to be that much. Suppose he checks back 10% of the times. Alone, this isn't enough, but about another 10% of the time, our hand will improve to a set or two pair. In addition, we will pick up draws (admittedly not many decent ones on this board) a fairly large percentage of the time, justifying calling further.

The point is that if we call, we will have good equity X% of the time after the turn card has come. The pot odds for calling here are 14.25:3, nearly 5:1. So, the number X need not be very high.

guess I made mistake here:

PokerStars - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 139.8 BB
SB: 117.6 BB
Hero (BB): 101.4 BB
UTG: 120.4 BB
MP: 46.8 BB
CO: 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has K♦ K♣

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 3 BB, fold, Hero raises to 9.2 BB, BTN calls 6.2 BB

Flop: (18.8 BB, 2 players) 5♠ 8♦ J♠
Hero bets 9.2 BB, BTN raises to 22.8 BB, Hero raises to 92.2 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 69.4 BB

Turn: (203.2 BB, 2 players) 5♣

River: (203.2 BB, 2 players) T♠

Spoiler

Hero shows K♦ K♣ (Two Pair, Kings and Fives)
(Pre 71%, Flop 75%, Turn 89%)
BTN shows J♥ A♠ (Two Pair, Jacks and Fives)
(Pre 29%, Flop 25%, Turn 11%)
Hero wins 194.8 BB

but actually maybe it was not a mistake because in hand review I noticed that his afq is 70 (14/20) which is agro.

main mistake was to be so robotic and do not check AFQ I guess.

reg 21/17 129h

did not want to call because I did not have spade and seeing spade would suck. Somehow thought I do not want to give him free cards for his draws And also his raise was not huge, bit more than minraise.
