How would you play this hand?
Villain is unknown.

OTF villain has sets and 2 pair hands but he should have decent amount of draws too, so I think calling that raise is fine?
OTT, not the best card since it might complete some draws. Still decided to call. Here I maybe should fold?
OTR I don't think he would jam 2 pair and I'm not sure how often the guy will jam with nuts. Does he think I have something that could call a shove? So I see him doing this with some of his missed draws. Actually if he can read my range properly he maybe can put me on a decent Kx hand or a draw and he knows I'm gonna fold a lot vs his shove OTR. So could we actually make a herocall with this hand or should we just give up?

It sure doesn't makes much sense to bet little more than 1/2 turn and 2x river with a full, but this is a fold everytime against unknown player. Maybe he has had quite a few calls with monsters in the past against villains who had tptk or something along those lines, and he chooses this pattern. I would take a note he overbets big river and put a question mark if he bluffs in that spot.

It does look bluffy, only one draw completed itself, it leaves busted draws and sets. Faced with the all in, there's nothing wrong with giving up.

Hi,

I would bet larger Flop because it is wet you have a lot of value. I would fold flop because average player on Nl10 is not bluffing enough combos (as far as I know). You can look at your hm or pt4 to see how often villains bluff when raising flop and barreling if you are unsure.

even if he knows you have Kx often, he does not know if you are able to fold that Kx. So I believe he is not bluffing often here.

Hm maybe if he see you multitabling, then he could take a risk, but at NL10 praobably they do not do that often.

I don't see myself folding on that flop because people tend to x/r this kind of flop a lot and they do have what it takes to do so.
Turn it's still a sound call but river.... arf, hard to guess by what would he hope to get called with such a line, so it does smell like a bluff but it's true that they almost never bluff enough, moreover by overbetting, so let's call it a day.
I would put a coin on AA or full. He can even have 5♥:6♥:

Well, we should cbet on flop and fold vs this raise. Remember that we can easily be dominated and villain has better hands too.
The turn call is a suicide.

Folding OTF would be too weak. And I think we should call T either. OTR I fold 99% of the time.

Nitrol: how do you mean we are dominated? You think villain has AK? Wouldn´t he 3bet it preflop most of the time?

Thanks for your comments guys :)
I indeed believe todays NL10 player is capable of bluff raising this flop frequently at least from these positions so folding OTF might be just a bit too weak.
Calling turn is closed but I wouldn't say it is suicide.

He can 3bet AK but we do not know that as villain is unknown.
When we get raised we can fold and move on. You can call with AK I think.

Yes, calling AK is definitely possible, but most of the players 3bet it. We also have K ourselves, so lower chance villain has it. Isn´t better to assume that he rarely holds AK?

Villain should 3bet AK from these positions, we block it and if villain is so passive pre he doesn't 3bet AK I doubt he will start raising with TPTK OTF. So I would say it is safe to assume villain doesn't have many AK here.

This does not remove the fact that even rarely we are dominated.
This does not remove the fact that he has a lot of better hands too, so both our calls on flop and turn are not so good.

Nitrol, any time you don't have the absolute nuts there is a possibility that you are behind. It doesn't mean you have to start folding every time villain sneezes.
In this hand I believe his range has a lot of bluffs even OTR.

Flop I call without much thinking. PLus we have backdoors. I believe in those positiosn vs wide BTN range they should xr lot.

Turn close imo. He still can have draws.

In this hand I believe his range has a lot of bluffs even OTR.

I believe this is the case vs good player. And what is a lot depends. With his sizing - you need to call much less often than vs normal sizing, so he needs to have much less often bluffs.

Domination is not an issue at all. Mostly when we face a raise, we have a pure bluff catcher with top pair hands. The only thing it matters what is the bluff ratio of villain's raise range. If you think that average villain (since he is unknown) is raising often in this spot, then you have +EV call. KQ blocks 2 pair hands, so it should be a call.

And what is your plan for turn?

On the turn it again depends what is your opinion about villains bluff frequency. If you think that population bluffs often enough, we have again on turn pure bluff catcher with solid blocker effect. Turn improves T8 only but it is a small fraction of range that improves, still if he is not value heavy on turn we can call turn, and similar goes for river. I dont have reads about population bluff frequencies on nl10 stars, but hero should have it using pokertracker or hm2 because the decision strongly depends on that info.

I don't think he might have sets. If he's raising flop and betting 55% OTT is more likely he has T8, 7♥:6♥:, 8♥:6♥:.

This is good thinking. He'll certainly put you on a lot of Kx if he goes to that level (putting you on a range). It is entirely possible he is bluffing a lot. Unfortunately, it is also possible that he is clever enough to realize that his bet smells bluff and therefore does this with nuts. Better get paid 2x 30% of the time than 0.5x 80% of the time, he might figure. The former is more likely because takes less cleverness on his part, but I am definitely folding river anyway. It takes too much balls for him to do this very often, and he shouldn't do it often because it makes him terribly exploitable. By the same token, calling makes you terribly exploitable (people take notes, not just him but some bystanders too). Since you are guessing anyway, it is an easy fold with KQ, but maybe a call with AA, without A♥:. (They make nut 2 pair as a bonus in case he is overplaying K9s or the like.)
