Re-raise the flop. Since villain opens, you should assume a Queen and make him pay.
If you put villain on AQ, you have even more reason to protect your kings.
The villain will benefit more from seeing another street, than you do.

Since you call both flop and turn, I would continue to call the river as well.
This is a bad beat, but you will prevent them most of the time by protecting your hand.

Raising the flop seems like the best option for value and protection. If he’s then 3 betting you can even consider folding, but that depends per villain.

On the river, you get most likely only action of better if you shove or you have reads on him and he’s committing himself with his bet as well. Even folding isn’t bad I think against some players.

QQ can be a flat OOP, but that is only 3 combos, he can have quite a lot of AQ that you get value from, KQ not that much because you block it. Sometimes strong hands are going to try to check raise river. Shoving here can't be that bad he had not much left behind anyways.

What were your positions? This affects the decision greatly. From some positions ppl will flat QQ vs 3bet and from some positions they will flat QT J9, so those hands can indeed be in his range. We have to also consider that villain might be a fish (short stack) and flat a wider range.

I have to say I pretty much disagree with all of the above posts. First thing is that I would not raise this hand OTF. Villain really shouldn't donk many hands here and imo his donk looks set heavy. It should be either sets or draws, and we block many of his flush draws with out Kd. Raising would be pretty much just an info raise, which is never good thing to do.
The second thing is the river shove. Villain donks and 3barrels on a 3bet pot and it looks super strong. If villain isn't an aggro fish I would say this is pretty much never a bluff. I would rather just call.

You played it fine, except that totally senseless river raise. There's no need to raise flop since

• You pretty much target AQ(s) only.
• If all money eventually goes in, an overpair typically isn't enough to win, and there's two more streets of betting to be made in a 3-bet pot.
• You want to keep his bluffs in. (To be specific and result oriented, you want to keep him bluffing with his QT-like hand whether he hits it or not)
