I've been reading up on this spin & go strategy that is available on the website and have a few questions: https://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/sit-and-go/spin-n-go-beginner-strategy/1/

1. Is this guide a good start for a beginner/amateur player that just wants to play some spin & go poker (mostly for fun) while still trying to win some money at the same time?

2. What kind of bankroll is needed for spin & go tournaments to be on the safe side? I'm mostly looking at the $0.25 or $1 limits at this point.

3. I posted a question at the bottom of the comments to the guide but I think it might take some time until someone responds therefore I would like to see if someone here could enlighten me...

What are you supposed to do (according to the guide) when you are in the big blind and both the button & small blind has joined the hand? I think an example of BU calling/raising and SB going all-in can hardly mean you should follow the "You're in the Big Blind and the Small Blind has joined the hand" chart? It does say "previous action" so I guess this is the chart you should look in since the previous action is SB joining the hand but seems weird to me!

Thanks in advance!

I think no one has ever tried this strategy on a large sample so I can't tell you if it's proven winning or not but in my opinion this is definitely a very good base for a beginner. It teaches you to care about the position and the effective stack size and switching from one range to another depending on those 2 criteria. However, you will probably learn fast and want to improve the strategy to win thanks to your edge on bad players rather than just following charts. It is a good starting point but it is meant to be improved when you get better and understand those basic concepts.

For your question, I think Colin talked about it in a video. Since 2 players are on the hand I guess you must choose the tighter range. You probably have to look at "you are in big blind and button joined the hand" because BB vs BU is more tight than BB vs SB.
I am not 100% sure of that but it is the logic play I guess.

Talking about bankroll, Must people say 300 buy ins is needed for spin and go. I think on micro limits, 100 or 200 are enough for a normal strategy. With this strategy I can't really tell. Since it is push or fold it probably involves more variance than a normal way of playing so maybe 100 buy ins won't be enough. I suggest you to start with 0,25$ so you can have a smaller bankroll to invest.

I hope I helped you with my small spin and go experience. Didn't see that thread before.
