Hero (SB): $27.52 (110.1 bb)
BB: $28.99 (116 bb)
UTG: $29.27 (117.1 bb)
MP: $20.45 (81.8 bb)
CO: $12.90 (51.6 bb)
BTN: $26.03 (104.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J♠: A♦:
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.50, BB folds, BTN calls $1.75

Flop: ($5.25) 9♦: 8♣: 4♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($5.25) 7♠: (2 players)
Hero bets $2.70, BTN calls $2.70

River: ($10.65) 8♦: (2 players)
Hero???

Preflop: BTN is playing 38/25 in 8 hands. AJo is a standard 3bet for me in this situation. Furthermore, BB plays 26/21 and 3bets 8,3% in 558 hands, so I expect alot of squeezes in case I call.

Flop: I didn't hit and the board favorize the BTN alot, so I decided to check/fold.

Turn: When he didn't bet the flop, I assume he doesn't have TP+. Flushdraws and straightdraws are probably betting, too. So I believe he might have something like AK-AJ, KQ, 77-22. Also, the population read is that they fold more than 50% vs delayed Turn cbet in those situations when IP. All this makes me to decide for a delayed cbet. True that I don't represent alot, either, but I think it's more important what his range is.

River: The Turn bet was profitable alone, so betting the River is not mandatory, imo, but if we think about his range, I think he still has quite amount of better hands that he will be villing to fold, like 66, 55, AK-AQ.

The problem is you look like Ax (the flop is relatively wet, hard to expect you would check with TT+)

Not sure I agree with the read. According to population reads (by yourself among others), the bet after missed c-bet has auto-profit. By the same token, a good hit should profitably slowplay, especially on the theory that if you had a good draw, you'd bet. Not sure also, that population reads override reads of particular boards (ordinary hand reading). The board didn't get less wet on the turn.

What do you guys think, is it a turn bet good there or we should just give up when we didn't cbet the flop?

Delayed cb is ok "ish" imo but flop and turn are all over villains calling range and i doubt you check many made hands on that flop, giving up is fine imo.

As played AJ has some showdown value so check river imo . Id likely go for the check fold on river as i don't really see what betting accomplishes. Assuming he 4bets AK a decent chunk pre your only really targeting AQ to fold. Villains unlikely to fold 8x or 7x or better now to a river bet.

Flop and turn hit his 3b calling range. When we miss the cbet we tell him that we do not have TP, overpair, 2P+.
So he will call us anyway. Do not like betting.

AJ,AQ,AK, KQ, 33,55 - all that should fold to a turn overbet. And he continues with what?

The delayed c-bet should include some bluffs, and you have outs, so betting could be okay, it depends on your range. For instance, if you happen yo have AT (more outs) or QJs (higher value in FE), these should probably be included before you include AJ in bluffing range here.

I think here we indeed should give up OTT. However, I would also have bet. Thing is, you can represent more when betting, not just OP. You rep Axs with both of diamonds, there is a BDSD in your reach and you could have pairs. When continue pushing OTT, villain mostly gives up here as straight already could complete as well and he could be behind vs pp.
