Hi Guys,

I wonder what would be the right play here. On villain I have the following notes:
"Regular?
Defending BB w x3 raise
re-raising a lot?
isoraise then fold to 4-bet"

and in 77 hands he has 28 VPIP and 23 PFR. I usually respect his moves (well, afraid of :f_cool:)

Stacks:
CO ($183.5BB) 184bb
BTN Hero ($96.5BB) 97bb (I had to restart the poker client and it doesn't top up my chips after it...)
SB ($157.5BB) 158bb
BB ($93.5BB) 94bb
Pre-Flop: (1.5BB, 4 players) Hero is BTN 4♠: A♣:

1 fold, Hero raises to 2.5BB, SB calls 2BB, 1 fold

Flop: 7♣: A♠: 7♦: ($6BB, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets 4BB, SB calls 4BB
Turn: 4♥: ($14BB, 2)
SB checks, Hero bets 10BB, SB raises to 29BB, Hero calls 19BB
River: 9♥: ($72BB, 2)
SB bets 122BB, Hero folds

Pre-flop: steal
Flop: I hit a Top pair and continue betting
Turn: he 3-bets, I might have fall here, but decided to call, since it could be a bluff from him
River: simply fold, I think my hand is too week here. I also wonder what he might had. Any idea?
Additional info: Since my poker client just restarted I even was distracted a bit.

thanks for your comments

I think you can skip the turn cbet. Every bigger Ax beat you. I do not like calling the raise too.

We shouldn't call the raise OTT. Other than that, I think it's fine.

As played definitely fold to the turn raise, basically always a nutted hand. I also don't think you need to bet again OTT to begin with. x/c could be fine.

Another option is checking back OTF and then calling two streets. You would still bet most of your stronger Ax of course.

The turn seems like an easy fold for sure. Your kicker isn’t in play and change he has a better ace or maybe even a FH is likely. Normal It’s a good spot to check the turn and see what happened and if we bet a bet of half pot is I think more than enough.

I would also not fold to raise OTT most likely, on the other hand I think folding might be still better at nl2 against most of the opponents. The river is a clear fold.

Really easy fold on the turn you have top pair no kicker and don't beat anything in his value range. Most people aren't floating you to bluff raise complete air without any equity either.

I like what Nitrol suggests the turn is a check for me and the flop could of been a check as'well.

Check behind on the turn. As played, it is an easy fold to the raise on turn. If you worry about balancing, then AK through A5 are all better bluff catchers. (The 4 is your kicker here.)

Your notes points to a possible aggro player. In that case i would cbh flop, call turn and river.
