Hero bets 205, CO calls 205

River: (865) Q♣: (2 players)

Results:

Spoiler

865 pot
Final Board: 4♥: 8♦: 2♦: T♥: Q♣:
Hero mucked J♥: 8♣: and lost (-380 net)
CO mucked and won 865 (485 net)

The CO has stats vpip:80 in 25 hands, super passive.

I expect from these players to bet the river mostly with something even if my check shows weakness there. Could it be some miss draw?
Should I take an alternative line there, with this kind of opponent?

Hey, in limped multiway pot I believe just 2 pairs are good for bet for value in flop, because, the limping range of villains with this vpip are totally crazy and they can reach a better pair than yours.

He could have a busted draw, however not many players, including passive fishes are able to bluff.
He can easily have a Q, any pair or some crappy 2-pair here with that kind of vpip.
Your line was not bad in my opinion. You took a stab on a limped Flop and tried to take it away in Turn, against a guy who doesn't know how to fold and value betting is effective for him.
However he's still here and board is dangerous, yet he still bets after your show of power and you can't call half a stack.

I think you're behind here a great deal of time.
I would probably check the Turn to not bloat it with my marginal situation against my stacky opponent since early stages i love my stack, but value-betting a safe amount this particular isn't bad either.
I would considering double-barrel if he had a low wtsd stat, otherwise i need at least a TPTK against him to continue my aggression.

Against a fishy player I will go for thin value bets, but the turn bet is most likely to thin. I don’t think it’s too bad, but the river is a fold for sure. A passive player will almost never bluff.

You gave him a good chance to bluff on the river, after betting twice and checking you basically say that you missed your draw, or your pair of 2s, 4s or 8s is too weak to call a river bet. On the turn there is no need to bet as I dont see him folding with any hand that he called the flop with, also we are just building the pot too much with a marginal hand.

I don’t expect a fish will think that way and he will never call the flop and turn to try to put you from the hand on the river.

thats all true but nog against passive players . They are way to tight for life to bet half pot as a bluff

Fps. - fancy play syndrom - the fish level of thinking is too focused in their hand and how hit the board that you can't overthink.
