Raising Turn Scare Card

What are you repping?

Board isn't all that dry, lots of gutshots possible that he can x/r.
Turn we can just call, we get a good price.

You can only raise turn when he's way out of line with way too much air in his range, you seem to be just guessing here.

I think i can rep sets and KJ tbh. I think he is getting out of line, whats he repping when he c/r's such a dry flop?

I think calling is burning money, just think we call and fold river and ton.

The problem with raising here OTT is that villain already shows strength by raising OTF. I think in cash games at the micros it's best not try to be both aggressive when you are semi-bluffing. If villain has a tendency for folding OTF or OTT we can semi-bluff more. If villain is passive we should definitely not raise and rather give up OTF.

Yes we will fold alot OTR when we miss, but we have LOTS of implied odds vs his value range, which mostly consists of sets.

And sets/KJ are great hands here to slowplay, the King is a 'scarecard' as its an overcard and he would be barreling it alot and probably river aswell. By saying you raise turn /w the nuts you don't have any hands to call down with when he triple barrels as your range will be capped to Jx max.

Yes, this is indeed a mental leak. Most bets and raises in poker mean exactly what they are supposed to mean; namely, a strong hand. Getting that wrong, either as a bettor/raiser (checking nuts and betting trash) or a caller of bets and raises (thinking others check nuts and bet trash) against unknowns is a big mistake.

Thanks for all the feedback, gonna work on envy/ego tilt this week as i think a fair percentage of this issue is mental.

It should be added (to the observations in my post just above) that some players do get it wrong in one way or another (as aggressor or caller). When spotting players like that, you have excellent exploitation opportunities. But be aware. Some players intentionally do wrong in order to exploit you. If you catch them by making an off-the-line play, (i.e. there's a showdown, but who wins it is not important), then you are subsequently in a meta-gaming situation (on your own:f_biggrin:). This is where poker gets fun:D Much more inspiring than 7-bet/fold preflop ranges.

Ive just looked at my hands ive played lately and even if i thought id improved i still have some tilting issues.
Its something we definately have to work on!
