Hi guys,

what do you think of this line?

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $1.32 Buy-in (40/80 blinds, 10 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 7 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #37796663

SB: 1,177 (14.7 bb)
Hero (BB): 1,610 (20.1 bb)
MP1: 2,409 (30.1 bb)
MP2: 1,762 (22 bb)
MP3: 3,743 (46.8 bb)
CO: 1,494 (18.7 bb)
BTN: 1,305 (16.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J♠ J♣
4 folds, BTN raises to 225, SB folds, Hero calls 145

Flop: (560) K♦ 3♦ Q♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets 350, Hero folds

[/hand_history][replayer=37796663][/replayer][/converted_hand]

I was thinking to reraise, but that would pretty much commit me right away on the flop, so I decided to call the preflop raise and see the flop. Would it be better to reraise preflop?

Thanks

I would push 16bb effective stack for the exact reason what happened on the turn, we are out of position and seeing a queen and a king on the flop

I guess You mean flop again here. Anyway this is an easy 3bet shove for 16bb effective against a BTN open with JJ. If you are 3x 3betting or so you will invest almost 50% of your effective stack.

Thanks for the feedback. It seemed like it was a bit to early in the tournament to push for 16BB and wager tournament life with JJ.

With what range of hands would you make this play?

Depends on Villain. Against a calling station spewy :f_ugly: only with the best 5% of my hands. Against a reg I would balance.

With the big ante in play and the player from the BTN isn’t too tight you can easy 3bet shove 77+, AJo+, ATs+ and KQs here and this is already a tight range I think when still 4 players need to bust to get ITM.
