I guess I should have the latest drivers. I just updated those a couple of weeks ago.
My laptop is not very powerful by todays standards but it is a gaming laptop from 2013. I didn't have any problems playing different games back then so I believe it should still be good enough to run one power up table 
Btw the same thing happens when someone wins in the deal jackpot and I watch if he hits a jackpot or not. To me this sounds more like some kind of a bug but I'm not sure.

Start by sending the log files to Stars' tech support the next time when you have issues. (Just in case, this can be done in the menu Tools -> Help -> Send Log Files; a more detailed explanation is at https://www.pokerstars.com/help/articles/logs-request-can-conn/7847/ )
I actually already opened a ticket and they asked me to send the log files so did that 
I'll let you know when I hear something from them.

from what i understand on the developer side of things they purposefully kept the game slower to give people more time to get used to the new mechanics.
I got a free ticket for a PU game, so gave it a go.
During play, I ran task manager to see what the load on the CPU was:
My computer is a 3.4 GHz i7-4770 with 8GB of RAM running 64-Bit Windows 10
You'd think it would be able to handle the load.
When not Powering Up, Pokerstars runs at around 6% CPU usage.

I have been messaging with Stars support and I got this fixed!
I got the following instructions:
1. Open our main lobby.
2. Click on 'Help', then 'Open My Settings Folder'. You will see the folder open.
3. Close our software (keeping the settings folder open).
4. Find the 'user.ini' file (or 'user'), right click on it and select edit and open the file with notepad.
5. Within the file please find the 'openGlSetting'and change its value to '4' instead of 1. Once edited the setting should look like this:[OpenGl]
openGlSetting=4
The original value of openGlSetting was 100. They asked me to change it to 1 but it didn't help. When I tried 4 my CPU usage went down to 10-20%.
you can now import PU into Pokertracker 4 v. 4.14.27
just to see the results and a somewhat inaccurate version of all-in adjusted
(not accounting properly for board modifications with Scanner / Engineer)
But of course it's rather useless otherwise because it doesn't track the use of powers.

I had noticed that PT4 was importing the hand histories, but was throwing errors due to invalid pot size (and possibly others)

I think power up poker has been around long enough now to start looking a little deeper into the game and to start formulating some strategies to combat the general population tendencies.
I decided to start this off by doing a session review series all free on Youtube and I'd like to encourage all the players here at Pokerstrategy to get involved.

I have been in touch with the Power Up developers, they are now working to resolve all the bugs and problems that appear in the game. If you have any insights or comments regarding the performance of the game you are encouraged to get in touch and let them know about it on powerup@pokerstars.com. Only when this is resolved they will be able to start actively promoting the game, add $15 stakes and be able to add promotions.
The game on Android has been fixed on the last release and now they are working on iOS.

Forgot to add this earlier but looks like PS is trying to make games shorter - 10 min rather than ~15 min - so they introduced a new structure. For now it has only been updated on the play money but it is probably coming shortly to the real money games as well.
New structure:
Starting stack: 1500
Ante: 5, 10, 15, 25, 40, 60
SB: 25, 50, 75, 125, 200, 300
BB: 50, 100, 150, 250, 400, 600
They made a small graphical update recently. Card backs and some power card animations have been updated. Also my cpu usage is now 3% down from 40%, so anyone having those kinds of issues should check it out again.

I think giving more recreation players the ability to join in from multiple devices is going to make the games much softer.
A couple of friends of mine found some different power cards that pokerstars have designed, they sound pretty interesting. The card names are in order
Manadrain, Mint, Morph and Deploy
I cant for the life of me figure out what deploy could do, but the rest seem to be a little more obvious.
