I want some feedback on a hand I played in a live game yesterday.

Tournament. $1500 main 500GTD. we are down to 25 and have just drawn for new tables. On my right is a fairly tight bad reg. 55 yr old ish. He has just been on a heater and knocked two people out in consecutive hands. One hand he ended up 5 betting all in IP with nut flush draw on a paired flop. so you get the gist....

Hand. Ah,Ac MP. 720,000 chips. blinds 5000,10,000, 1000

He opens from EP 27,000 and I 3B with aces 72,000. Folds to him he thinks for a wile and calls.
Flop, Js,As,6s. checks, I CB 95,000 he raises to 260,000 I shove for 660,000 he calls....

my question is. In this spot so deep in a tournament VS a player who I know is likely to play a FD so aggressively. is it good to check back the flop and see what the turn brings to lower variance? or is it alway right to get the money in when Im nearly always crushing him?

As it went he had Ks,Jd. Turn 10s river X. I busted..

This looks like a life tournament and I have moved it too our tournament hand discussion forum, because it’s fits better there and you get faster feedback of tournament players.

Not sure how you can play a 1,5k tournament with $500 guaranteed, because that makes no sense. I would play this hand the same, because you want to protect your hand on a wet board like this.

Cheers,

Thanks for moving and the help. And I forgot to write it as a 500,000 GTD
