I'm supposed to call a German phone number given is the following format: 0911/xxxxx. I tried dialing it with +49 in the front, but it wouldn't work. Any idea what's wrong?

Hey fred,
I assume you're trying to call this number from outside of Germany, correct?
In this case, the +49 is supposed to replace the first 0 in the phone number (the 0 is just used as a replacement for +49 if you're calling from inside Germany). Also, I believe you're supposed to dial two zeros instead of the plus sign.
So try calling 0049911/xxxxx.
