Hey PS community.
Recently on pokerstars, I (and others, I've read some posts on 2+2 also) have been hacked. My bankroll was 280$, which I worked from the ground up (40$) and played over 250k hands to achieve. I was grinding NL10 and to say I'm gutted is an understatement.
I'm devastated.
I'm not even sure why I've made this thread, but,.. guess i'm just looking for some advice.. This is like the ultimate badbeat.
Not only is it demotivating to have lost my bankroll, but I've also lost the ability to attend coaching's and watch videos because I've now lost my Gold status..
Oh man, that totally sucks.
What does PokerStars security/support say about it?
When I first heard about this, I looked into PokerStars 2-factor authentication, set it up and enabled it.
As far as I can tell, it is set up correctly -- just confirmed it today -- but I've never been asked for the 2nd factor.
Of all the bad beats I can imagine, this is the worst.
Other than re-set your password, and start again, I have no idea what to suggest.

They've said nothing,.. it's so, so, SO suspicious. Other people have had it too, absolutely no virus found on my / their system and someone has "randomly accessed your account knowing your password exactly" from a foreign IP address - and not touched anything else (which i have the same password for,.. i mean even my poker strategy account is the same)

do u use 1 password for all accounts like gmail ,hot mail and some other shitty mail it is always best idea to put pin code in pokerstars it took like 2 min to activate but it is safety feature .

Pokerstars are scumbaggy overraked pieces of shit but they do provide the best protection/payback to scammed players.
tbh I wonder how do you keep playing there and still have a will to live

Hhhhhmmmm..... so how did someone get the money from your account? He cannot directly withdraw to a different bank account / paypal or whatever... So it would be easy for them to track to which accounts all the stolen money was handed over ( probably by playing headsup games ).

Ive got my account back,, and it still has the funds in! I've no idea what stars were talking about, reset my password and changed the email scanned my computer and took all the steps to (touch wood) secure my account.
