Welcome Introduction As the title states this is my 3rd blog. It is also my last. This time is different from the other two blogs in more ways. First of all I have played Fixed Limit for more than 2 months now, and I'm getting better and better. The other two blogs I started literally the same day I started playing. My main goal with this blog is to keep better track of my results and to become a better player by getting constructive criticism from you guys. It will be a blog containing videos of my play. I hope I will get to record a lot of videos and post them here. It will be both live videos and session reviews along with some other specials from time to time - I've got plenty of ideas. The videos will not be educational videos at first, as I still have tons of stuff to learn and I still make tons of errors. It will be videos that I hope someone will watch and then get back to me and tell me about the spots where they think I played bad. They will be many spots in the beginning, but as I progress I hope people will start learning from my videos, rather than teach me :) Briefly about me As this is not my first blog I will not use many lines on this, just really short: Name: Anders Country: Denmark Education: studying Computer Science My game - Fixed Limit Hold-em - 0.25/0.50 - SH 0.50/1 FR I mix it up a bit, because I'm playing at Cake Poker and sometimes there are no tables available at 0.25/0.50 SH. Short Term Goals :diamond: Play on Cake Poker until the end of February to get a lot of RB and clear the bonus (Canceled - couldn't take it anymore. Needed fresh air) :diamond: Establish myself as a winning player on 0.25/0.50 SH :diamond: Move up to 0.50/1 SH :diamond: Get my gold status back (won't happen anytime soon, as I'm not tracked on Stars) :diamond: Find my next site (PokerStars) :diamond: Look myself in the eyes at the end of each week and say: "You played your A-game - be proud of yourself" :diamond: Spend more time studying the game :diamond: Make a lot of videos Long Term Goals :spade: Become a winning player on 2/4 SH :spade: Make platinum status :spade: Make Diamond status :spade: Be able to handle sessions with big losses with an attitude like: "I played my A-game - I'll take the money in the long run" So why is the last one a long term goal? It's because I have a very hard time handling bad beats and variance. And it gets even worse because I sometimes play hands with slightly -EV. And then a small preflop mistake becomes a big postflop mistake because I get a mediocre hand and I'm dominated. So when those two things combine I get mad, sad and just want to throw my mouse into the wall to blow off some steam. The latter is a leak in my game that I am plugging - or trying at least. But the first one is an attitude problem, that I need to work hard on. And I can't do that from one day to the other - or week for that matter. Monetary Goal :heart: Be able to say that I don't necessarily have to take a summer job because of the money This is not because I don't want a job. But because I want the freedom to be able to choose for myself. It will not be a goal that I just have to make, but it would be a really nice bonus. Nice pot there Kimber!!

I think you've got to fold your J8s PF. You're only getting 4.5:1 on the call, without implied odds you need 5.5:1 so its pretty marginal calling. Plus you've got to worry about being dominated.

Once this pot gets raised + capped PF you definitely have to fold.

After that, flop is okay, turn I think is okay... normally you'd worry about players checking behind when the flush hits and donk here, but I think given the amount of aggression shown by the BB you are probably okay to c/r.

On the river definitely donk. You're really only worried about A♠ K♠, which is the only hand that beats you that would make sense given the action... possibly a suited Ax or Kx. Tough to know without reads. You can't be sure villians will bet again so the donk is for value.

If you're raised then call a 3-bet and hope villians have overplayed sets, 2 pairs or worse flushes.

At least that's my guess! A nice hand for evaluation I think because there are a couple of interesting spots in it. ♦

The reason I made the call PF was that BB was rather loose so I was sure he would call too, and UTG and UTG+1 would follow along (one of them almost all in, so not that important). After the BB raise, two calls then a cap and a BTN call I knew for sure that the last 3 players after me, which included the 3better was never going to fold. So getting what I assumed would accumulate to 11:1 there's no way I'm folding a suited J. I can always get away on the flop and beat myself in the head.

I knew the hand was somewhat marginal, which is probably also the reason I got a little weak on the river. Looking back it's an easy donk/call.

A bet call is more appropriate. It prevent you from a free SD and there is no way folding in this big pot !

Not much has happened - and then again
I haven't played much since my last update. This is due to the fact that I have had some troubles with my wireless connection. But that should be sorted out now. I played to small sessions today and here's how they went

Session 1
Disaster. I had work my way back into the positive numbers in some very short sessions over the weekend, basically playing hit'n'run poker. But all that I threw away and then a little more. Came back a little in the end of the session. Here's the graph:

Fantastic. Nothing less. I immediately lost another 20BB but then things turned around. I started hitting sets, 2pairs etc. and got paid off. What more can you wish for? Maybe one thing. Getting back in the green numbers and reach my all time high on Stars. And that I did ♦ Ok it's only 2.6k hands, but I don't care. Here's the graph:

Honestly, you say to the Danish Tax offices that you are going to pay taxes over Poker Winnings like $20 (no offense ofc. just an example)?????

Nope. Would never tell them about such a small amount. But I aim higher than that

If I should ever make money enough for it to become interesting for the tax authorities I would probably start thinking more seriously about a way to get around it. I have some ideas as to how I can get around the law without actually breaking it. I haven't read that thouroughly through it though.

Whatever. For now I'm not cashing out anything.

No update in a long time. The reason is simple: I haven't played much.

My internet connection has been so shaky lately that it has been hard to make long sessions. I know I could just time out and sit back in, since I'm only disconnected for about 30 seconds at a time. But I get so frustrated when it happens in the middle of a hand that I was about to win. So I get mad and have to stop playing.

Even though I've only played about 200-300 hands since my last update I've been running hot in those hands. That makes me even more sad that I can't play more and abuse this heater ♦

I have withdrawn the rest of my money from Cake and put them onto Stars. That together with the money i won from FL and some shots at PLO2 yesterday now adds my BR up to $415. That's a peak for me. I know it's no big deal for a lot of you guys, but I'm extremely happy about it.

If anyone has experience with stabilizing wireless internet connection from a Belkin router (the strongest one) to an HP Desktop, I would love to hear from you, as I really wanna start playing longer sessions again

I officially did it again. I managed to start a blog and then switch game. This doesn't mean that I don't have the goals about FL anymore. I have just put them on halt. I don't feel like playing it at the moment.

Since my last post I have done a number of different things. I have been going back to SnG's which I played a long time ago. No huge volume or anything but I managed to make a nice ROI of 10% over some hundred games - no big deal.

Right now I'm playing Stud Hi/Lo and I'm really trying to devote myself to this game. I'm single tabling to keep good track of dead cards. I have found that this is the only way I can win atm. And there are so many multitablers that it is easy to exploit because they play abc and have no chance of keeping track of dead cards.

I have a dream. A dream where I start updating this blog frequently and devote myself to the game of Stud Hi/Lo. I want to write about strategies, post interesting hands and discuss them. I know there's not a lot of Stud players in here, but still I also want to win some money but hey - can't have it all right ♦

Anyway. Welcome back to my blog and thanks a mill for reading this. I promise I will *try* to stick to a game now and learn it to perfection.

Ok. Time for one very small Stud8 update. I'm really not in the mood for writing right now, but want to put some thoughts into writing.

Time to the confession: I'm a total Stud8 FISH. A big one that is. Can anyone tell me what kind of short term variance I can expect in that game? Not that I blame variance all that much. Most of it has been bad play. But I have lost with some very Full houses against 4 of a kind (twice) and straight flush (once) - needless to say I jammed those pots as there were no Lo and I was sure the big half was mine. In one of the hands the guy with quads just called the river though - I thank him for that

So it's time to start studying some more. I'm reading articles and watching movies from DC. It's all great

The worst thing is that there is a ton of multi tabling regs. I said earlier that this was a good thing because they are easy to exploit - and they are. But they are playing so tight that I rarely get any action on my good hands.
