Hey pokerlovers,
I recently played this hand and I felt I should fold my holding, since I was pretty damn sure that his line fits perfect for this special holding he in the end indeed showed.
See hand here - I'm sorry for not converting the hand, I just dont get it to work for me -.-
So I just note my thoughts while playing: preflop I thought calling is ok vs fishy player which probably has a much broader range than me in UTG. On the flop I spike up the top pair + backdoor flushdraw, so I decided to check/call for pot control.
After villain checked behind a flop which hits at least my UTG range perfectly well, I thought I have to bet my two pair for value. The 2x raise - although it was not too big - made my think, umm, which holdings could check back flop and raise turn? Since I block Aces, Tens, AQ, (and I think Queens he wouldve bet directly on the flop as well) - there could only be the KJ (and retrospectivly: to a lower probability QT, which I dominate). That were exactly the thoughts I had, why I didnt fold? Fishy players are pretty damn honest sometimes, lol.
Yeah, my river bet I think it was already over-the-edge, and the call-to-push ... what can I say. Maybe I was curious if I made the correct assumptions - but that is a general weakness in my gameplay: I often have the correct assumptions and ranges I set villain on, and then I just dont use this knowledge, I mean, this cost me some buy-ins. I'm angry about myself, how would you play this exact spot?
