vilain vpip24/pfr24/af3/wtsd40 (45)

UTG: $9.75 (98 bb)
MP: $10.99 (110 bb)
CO: $19.54 (195 bb)
BU (Hero): $12.22 (122 bb)
SB: $10.05 (101 bb)
BB: $10.10 (101 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BTN with A 7
3 players fold, Hero raises to $0.25, SB 3-bets to $0.95, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.70

Flop: ($2) A Q T (2 players)
SB bets $0.85, Hero calls $0.85

Turn: ($3.70) 7 (2 players)
SB bets $2.33, Hero calls $2.33

River: ($8.36) 9 (2 players)
SB bets $5.92 (all-in)
Hero?

Some stats but not reliable to much.
Again I'm hoping that he will check or bet small? Not.
Again situation when if want to fold river I could fold turn and if would like to fold turn I can fold flop :)
What can I expect here? 3barrels means here sets, better 2 pairs, even KJ, almost never bluff, maybe Ako only That I bit. I think question is When to fold? :)

No. No no no no. NO.

But yea 3 barrels in 3bet pot does look very strong at the micros. He can easily have sets, better 2pair, straight. He could also decide to 3 barrel some combodraws that missed. Or maybe he plays AK like this? Tough situation, you need to win about 30% and without putting villain on a range or doing any calculation I would guess that it is somewhat close?

As a general rule: when you are not quite sure if you should call here or just fold, then folding is probably a better option. It is usually a bigger mistake to overcall than to overfold.

No. No no no no. NO.

:mdr: I totally agree (with the no).
Poker is a game where you defend a (quite big) part of your whole range each street, and let go another part each street too. That's how it's meant to be played. There is no shortcut or else we'd play only AA pre or even not cause AA can of course be folded on some runouts anyway.

Let's fold this one on the river. Or maybe call and lose a big chunk of the time (as we need less than 30% win here). But not cry about it. That's 2018 3bet pots for you. Huge pots and some variance.

9 seems very dangerous but it is not imo. If he has you beat it is not with a hand that needs the 9.
9 is a card for your range, not his.
That said, I fold this.

I would fold preflop you didn't give any 3bet stat but it's only 45 hands. And villain doesn't look out of line so far. With more info it can become a flat or 4bet but I don't defend it as a default. As played it looks very close but you do conceivably beat some of villains value range now with 2 pair plus the bluffs so id call the river.

I prefer calling this pre. 4betting might not be horrible. But imo if you are folding suited aces vs a 3bet when you are on BTN, you are probably folding way too much.

I probably fold to much i'm defending roughly 35%-40% vs a 3bet vs unknows. But then I possibly don't open as wide as most from the btn or sb. So i'm probably defending an ok range for my RFI.

Indeed all suited aces are supposed to be a call (or a 4bet) pre BU vs blinds.
If you happen to fold those without folding too much of your range, well, then, steal more. Duh.
Too many honest people these days, I tell you ;)

Theoreticaly you have to defence around 2/3 of your opening range from any position to be unexploytable if I remember it right. Of course if you are OOP you defence less than being IP, but the average from the BU should be around 60-66%, cause we are IP every time. Please say guys if I am wrong, cause I am not 100% sure. So if you open 45-50% from the BU, your defend range should be around 30%. Suited aces is an easy call, unless 3bet size is way too big. If you open 35-40%, defence range is around 25%, suited aces still are in our defence range.

Preflop call is ok. Suited A is played easy IP.
Flop and turn cal are ok. I do not agree that we can safely fold our hand on flop or turn. On flop villain can bet wider and on turn we hold 2p...
River is ok to fold if you are not sure...

I'm not crying about it too much ;) maybe sounded little bit here but I was trying to let you know my way of thinking. I don't care about those couple cents at least if they will be invested to improve my game. This is the most important for me now. I'm trying to learn mechanisms, how it's all working in nl and knowledge about those standard, basic situations is very helpful for me as well. I'm really grateful for so many replies. Thank you.

2/3 sounds wrong to me i always thought folding anything over 72% is auto profit for others, Given a 3x 9x sizing so a minimum defense frequency of 28% or around 1/3.

I think it is a difficult line to walk between worrying about being exploitable and exploiting your opponents. So if weather the call is correct is debatable. As played folding the river is probably best.
