I've recovered a bit from my malaise after the terrible run last time. I no longer wish to gamble my bankroll on one sng. I've opted for the better approach which is moving down limits.
I've also moved back to matrix tourneys, $55 guys. I quite like them because if I have a good run I automatically place in a 5th tourney (the overall points part)
On the other hand I've placed very well in a couple of live tourneys. One was a R1000 ($100) buy in tourney that I won a satellite to for next to nothing (long story) and I came 3rd making R2000 ($200) which was essentially full profit.
Then I played a team game where there were 7 teams of 6, and 6 separate tables. So 1 person from each team played on each table. You got points for your place (so 700 for first) and each team had a captain who scored double points for their place (and also had a points bounty on their head). I was captain of my team and I placed 3rd at my table. It was quite an exciting finish, with the last guy playing short stack trying to get to 3rd on his table to draw for first overall. He did it in the end with everyone gathered round the table screaming and shouting. And so our team shared 1st which was about R10000 ($1000) and so we each made just over R1500 ($150).
And finally my brother was playing in a R10000 ($1000) gtd loyalty points tourney on a local South African site the other night, and he didn't want to play because he was going to watch the champions league games. So he was playing like a maniac, when suddenly he was chip leader. So he asked me if I wanted to carry on for him and take %70 of the winnings. And I happened to come 3rd. So I made R1250 ($125).
So overall I think psychologically I'm doing a bit better than my last rant. Now I just need luck, and I need it to stay (my tight aggressive play will take care of the rest).
