(FR) QQ - middle pair in mw pot

MP’s skills are suspect to begin with because he starts with only 54 BB. Most good players start with around 100 BB. I was very appreciative when I posted a hand and somebody noticed my mistake in only starting with 65 BB. It does not matter how many players are present or your position, you must bet about ¾ pot at the Flop to determine the likelihood of an opponent holding an Ace. Without a flop bet, you are totally in the dark. As you may know, my unorthodox pre flop would be to limp my QQ with the hopes that one of the four following players would raise. This would give me the opportunity to three bet with the third best hole cards possible. Of course, your 5 BB raise is a fine, standard pre flop strategy. But, I would want more. I want to create a three bet opportunity with QQ.

Nothing wrong with this hand. Tough to play a 4 way pot on a ace hight board with QQ. Change you are against a better hand is decent and sometimes you have only 1 clean out to win the hand.

WHAT?! I am surprised that the other commenters agree with the passive post flop play. Let’s say you bet 11 BB at Flop. Thus, you are betting 11 BB to earn 32 BB (34% pot odds). So if all others fold at least 34% of the time, your 11 BB bet was correct. Being OOP is an advantage because you place huge pressure on following players who do not have an Ace. As played, you made it easy with somebody with JXo, 99, or TT to take your pot. After he sees that nobody seems to have an Ace by lack of Flop action, he can comfortably bet 10 BB with his JTo and take your pot. The passive play is reasonable. But aggression is another reasonable alternative. I would fold a flop raise after my 11 BB bet. I would Check/Call the turn and river if the bet was 14 BB or less. I would Check/Fold a 15 BB bet or more. I frequently win hands with second best board pair. But we must be careful because people love playing Aces.

As much as i like to cbet (and i do that alot) fishes, like you said it your self, love to call pre with their Ax.
So, versus 3 players and OOP i tend to agree with the check OTF.

I think when you decided to check the flop as the pfr you should have atleast called the turn probe imo players who know about this will probe with almost any two cards (although i could be wrong here) and there is still a decent chunk of hands which you are still ahead of ie flush draws, straight draws, pocket pairs..

Hmm! Interesting. I like this line of checking the Flop with the intention of calling a possible Turn bet. I must try this line from time to time.
