Totally wrong play here with 88

Hi,

I don't know what to say about this hand really. I just know this play is wrong but still I do it.
How should I approach this hand with this action preflop?

Fold seems like best option. Villain is showing decent amount of strength and you still have three players behind.

Call could be somewhat reasonable in a way that you might have decent chance to get into showdown without much action as side pot won't be that big.

For 4bet shoving you are too deep. With 30bb I would go with shove but deeper than that it would be awkward.

Seems like a easy fold against someone that's only raising 4% of his hands so far and I expect you can only call for set value and I don't think you are deep enough for that. Especially if you use the 20call rule for set value.

Ah yeah I missed his stats and went for default line. Yep even easier fold versus passive villain.

Agreed, definitely a fold. Sometime we it sucks you pick up a decent hand and there is this much action before you.

We would probably need JJ/AKo plus here probably to continue from my feeling of things
